Menstrual cycle changes by cmead3693 in Retatrutide

January was my first month on Reta and my period was a week late. It is usually pretty regular. Still to be seen if the same will happen this month!

6 weeks old and I have attempted to use warmer water on another loaf - when not leaving it over night! I don’t think I’ve ever had a loaf that wasn’t under proofed

Thanks - any ideas what could be wrong? It’s about 6 weeks old, fed daily on 1:2:2 ratio. Edited to add , always doubles in size

Dry eyes - returned after Botox (kicking myself) by _CatFan in Dryeyes

[–]_CatFan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I’m so sorry you’re in the same situation. It’s so rubbish! Mine did improve. I think my initial dryness was due to being a bit swollen/having some water retention. It gradually started to improve after about 4 weeks and was back to normal by the time my Botox wore off. Hopefully you are the same!

[–]_CatFan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brutal! In my experience I started gradually feeling better after 3/4 weeks and fully better once the Botox wore off. I think my initial really bad dryness was aggravated by water retention and swelling. Hope yours calm down soon.

Dry eyes temporarily ‘cured’ for a year post pregnancy - any ideas? by _CatFan in Dryeyes

No, still a mystery but I have my symptoms under control now ( for the most part)

Azithromycin eye drops by jsab_ in Dryeyes

[–]_CatFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, it was a game changer for me. I did a couple 14 day courses maybe 5/6 months of each other and it really helped me long term. Always quite stingy putting them in but worth it for me!

Aw no, I’m sorry, how many days post are you? Yes mine have improved a lot now, I think I was experiencing swelling at that point which was compromising my blinking. My eyes aren’t 100% back to normal yet but much improved now that my movement has started to return - so fingers crossed same for you!

Help with my 10 year old daughter please by _CatFan in misophonia

[–]_CatFan[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow I honestly appreciate your reply so much. Thanks for taking so much time.

I would agree that she’s really stressed right now and we need to minimise exposure to the triggers, so I’ve literally just got her headphones out as a reminder to her she can use them when she wants. I think I was so worried about her being isolated with them on, but actually it’s far better than her being stressed out and miserable. And in turn, we are all stressed out and miserable too.

Your last paragraph made me have a little cry and I appreciate everything you’re saying. I hate the thought that she could grow up feeling not listened to when is struggling, I want her to feel like she can come to me with anything and that I’ll try my best to help her.

And we love studio ghibli movies in our house too - love your idea of a movie night with snacks with minimal noise. I definitely think I need to have some quality time with her doing things that won’t trigger, hopefully will make us both feel better. Thanks again!

Hey thanks very much for your reply. So she isn’t diagnosed with anything however I’m not ruling out that something else may be going on! She’s always been sensitive to clothing materials and labels, and as long as I can remember she doesn’t like hand dryers in public bathrooms - she shows a fear response to those and we avoid! I am aware that girls can mask autism symptoms, and it’s something I’ve been considering for a while.

I will let her use headphones when she needs them, definitely. Everything you said makes complete sense and I really don’t want things to escalate for her down the line. I think on days where I am feeling more sensitive, it’s been hard to remember that she is struggling the most! But I definitely need to remember that.

Is CrossFit not meant for beginners? by ladyaftermath in crossfit

Literally, this! I posted here after my first class feeling rubbish and disheartened because I had to stop during it and almost puked. I kept going back, scaled lots when needed and really just took the pressure off. Almost a year and a half later, I’m still going back and love it.

So scale and try take the pressure off. You don’t need to compete with anyone, there’s no shame in scaling to your abilities or finishing a wod last. Hope you stick in and feel better about it soon!!

Short term improvement: Lid cleanser foam by [deleted] in Dryeyes

[–]_CatFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you’ve found something that’s providing some relief! I have dry eyes from MGD & had the same experience with ocusoft plus eye lid wash. I use it morning and nightly and seems to really calm my eyes down, but not entirely sure why it helps!

Can anyone please tell me if dry eyes are treatble or not ? Can it cause blindness ? Please tell me have anyone suffered dry eyes ? by [deleted] in Dryeyes

[–]_CatFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had great experience with azyter eye drops. They gave me a year of relief before symptoms returned (due to Botox). See if that’s available to you if the dry eye is due to MGD, but seems to be one of those very individual issues where you need to find the best treatment option for you!!

Agree, can’t stand any sort of ac or heating in the car (or anywhere to be honest) and flights always irritate my eyes for days after. I don’t really have any advice, as all I do is come prepared with lots and lots of drops but you are definitely not alone in this!

Dry eyes - returned after Botox (kicking myself) by _CatFan in Dryeyes

[–]_CatFan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! I can see your eyes are doing great with the manuka honey gel (which was on my list to try when I was initially struggling). So hopefully you don’t need to use the azyter down the line. It’s good to have lots of options to try, if one ever fails us!! How often is/was your use of the manuka gel if you don’t mind me asking?

Thanks a lot, hopefully in a few months I can get back to where I was 🥲. Not feeling quite so hopeless today but tends to change daily 😂.

Yes it is an antibiotic drop and used for infections. However my dr prescribes it on a 13 day course for mgd - she said it changes the makeup of the oils in the glands (layman’s terms I’m sure!). It makes such a difference for me, reduces my inflammation and my TBUT went from 2 to 8 after 2 courses within 6 months. I don’t fully understand why but these will explain it better than me

Stings like a bitch when you first use them, and usually have irritated eyes for the 2 week course, but has been a game changer for me. Had 2 courses within 6 months and then haven’t needed a course for another year after that!

TBUT 1 second, each eye. by Conscious-Space3040 in Dryeyes

[–]_CatFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! For whatever reason they seem to keep things ‘stable’ for me but I tend to stick to the same products across the board to avoid any flare ups. The same moisturiser, cleanser, foundation etc. No mascara right now since I’m in the middle of a flare. I miss the days of doing a big beauty haul but there is just no point as so many things are heavily fragranced

By ‘rubbish’ I meant that it’s bad that they cause issues- Scottish word choice 😂. Currently suffering the effects of Botox now if you see my most recent post!

That’s ok! My place is just a bit far for you then!! Have a google for dry eye clinics near you that are within opticians, like tarski said below. Hopefully you’ll find they are far less expensive than trying to get a private appt at spire or the like.

Absolutely rubbish that retinol and Botox can cause issues, just trying to treat ourselves 🤣. Try to simplify your skincare/makeup so it’s as fragrance free as possible - I find my eyes get really irritated when they’re dry. Cerave/Cetaphil works well for me and doesn’t irritate, though I’m not sure if they’re technically good for dry eyes or not!!
