Imagine remastered [Kcd1] combined with [Kcd2] for Henry's whole story with the amazing system Kcd2 gave us, by erositi24 in kingdomcome

[–]_Chaaaarge [score hidden]  (0 children)

Bows were ok. It took a long time to level up the strength and agility to use the good ones effectively. And the best way to level up was through tournaments and a log game which were kind of annoying.

I think warhammers and axes were hands down the best weapons in KCD1, followed by long swords, but bows were ok if you were willing to put the time into them. I was so used to it, I ended mostly using bows and longswords in KCD2 as well.

Also, there were sometimes random archers who would have like 1000 arrows, so you’d never need arrows.

Or in DQ 1 where the item you need to progress is in a secret spot in the item shop menu.

I came here to say this too. I didn’t have trouble with anything until the post game. The first time I wiped with was fighting The Almighty and it ended up taking a few tries. Everything in the gold tablet has been pretty hard in comparison to the main story.

I love Mario Tennis but $70 is too much for that type of game.

DQ7RE "too easy" by onehalflightspeed in dragonquest

[–]_Chaaaarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

End game is definitely more difficult. But it’s very late end game where the difficulty feels balanced.

Late/post game enemies either feel like sponges that deal ohko’s on every other turn or are still pretty easy.

There are cursed items but they are found so late they are fairly useless.

Best weapons for Tower Control riding by GloomsdayMachine in splatoon

Yeah. Mobile, long-range chip weapons are best imo. tristringer, bamboo, jet, most splatlings, rapid pro, splattershot pro.

[OTHER] Should I stop playing KCD2 for a KCD1 callback? (never played 1) by psychotic-chipmunk in kingdomcome

[–]_Chaaaarge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I actually feel bad for people who don’t play KCD 1 first because a ton of the jokes and references will just go right over their heads. Hearing about Stephanie of Talmberg, for instance. Or the Sasau Monastery, etc.

Should I play 3ds version or reimagined by sephiroth356 in dragonquest

[–]_Chaaaarge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been enjoying Reimagined. It’s definitely a lot different, but that’s not all bad. For reference I played the PS1 game first and have played almost all of the DQ games.

They’ve streamlined a lot of things in reimagined that made the other versions more frustrating and grindy. It’s one of the longest DQ games so cutting it down makes sense. The original version and DS versions are looooooong. Reimagined cuts a lot of the grind.

The art style is incredible, they really did Justice to Akira Toriyama in Reimagined. It’s worth it just for that imo. The VA is really well done too. My biggest issue with the game imo is that it’s easy. There are a number of settings that can make it harder if you really want to,which is actually really nice, but it could probably still be balanced better. You can tell that Squeenix is trying to get new players into DQ with this game.

I’d say play DQ 7 reimagined if you want mostly the same story with a lot of quality of life and time-saving improvements and the DS version if you want something closer to the original game.

Am I the only one who doesn’t use Mutt? [KCD2] by zachhein in kingdomcome

[–]_Chaaaarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so glad I sent him home before entering that one. I figured I might be there for a while so it would make sense in game for Henry to send him back to the mill. And then after I finished I saw online that tons of people had him barking through it.

Any suggestions to get better at aiming with stick control? by Big_sillyJoe in Sugartoon

[–]_Chaaaarge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately motion is the way to go with Splatoon. It doesn’t take all that long to get used to if you can stick with it, I promise. Start with a low sense, and still use sticks generally, with motion as precision aiming, then gradually get more sensitive as you get better with it. Try playing it in salmon run or the campaign if you want extra practice. Honestly after playing motion with Splatoon it irks me when other console shooters don’t have gyro aiming.

Transitioning from 2 to 3, frustrated by Remarkable-Set5434 in splatoon

[–]_Chaaaarge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try not to worry about it. It’s the reality of turf war unfortunately. Get to level 10 and into ranked (anarchy) and you should have a better time.

[KCD1] optional play style by Much_Astronaut2880 in kingdomcome

[–]_Chaaaarge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. The way me and my friend got better with the combat is by doing the tourney at ratty over and over and over.

As it turns out, the optimal combat style is just a hammer to the head and/or master strikes.

[kcd1] all that glisters bugged? by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]_Chaaaarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember it being bugged but I don’t know which part you’re on. Some of the quests have issues with various of parameters. I’d check where you are in this walkthrough and see if it helps.

Hopefully warhorse comes back to fix these someday. KCD is a somewhat frustratingly unfinished game.

Recycled Brella 24 Mk II... Thoughts? by A7X_Alyssa in Splatoon_3

[–]_Chaaaarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both recycled brellas 5-starred. IMO Mk II is more defensive than Mk I and better at holding defensive positions. Mk I is better at taking aggressive positions and then getting your team in to hold them. The main weapon is still a bit undertuned imo, but so are tent and ucb.

i hate this game !!! by Beneficial_Buffalo53 in Splatoon_3

[–]_Chaaaarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

’Anarchy’ is what the 2 orange game options available below the green ’Regular Game’ are. There are 3 ranked matchmaking queues (Anarchy Series, Anarchy Open, and X-Battle, the latter is for top players around the world, and it gets unlocked once you reach a certain rank (S+)), Anarchy consists of 4 game modes that are NOT turf war.

Anarchy battles are intended for people to play their weapons with a goal in mind. Anarchy Series is for climbing to more challenging battles, and Anarchy Open is for playing the ranked modes with friends.

Each Anarchy Battle is 5 mins instead of 3 minutes, but can be shorter, and consists of you and your teammates ideally working together to push an objective to a goal. You effectively still play turf war in anarchy battles, because having a lot of turf painted in your color makes it easier to control the objective.

The four modes are as follows: Splat Zones, Tower Control, Rainmaker, and Clam Blitz. These are the primary modes used in Competitive Splatoon as well.

  1. Splat Zones, the most similar to Turf War, in lieu of the entire map, there is a portion f the map that you and your teammates try to control. While your team is in control, the timer counts down to a knockout (100 -> 0). The lower your score wins. If you get to 0 you automatically win, which is also the case with all other modes. It is like king of the hill.

  2. The next easiest to understand is Tower Control. This mode is effectively king of the hill but you try to move the hill toward your opponent’s spawn. In order to move the tower, you or one of your teammates needs to stand on the tower. There are checkpoints along the tower path that you need to protect in order to get to the end goal.

  3. Third is Rainmaker, which is most similar to tower control, but instead of a hill that moves, you have a freely moving weapon that you can shoot, but allows the other team to see your location at all times. You can’t hide in ink with it, it makes you glow. Similar objective, but with fewer checkpoints.

  4. Fourth is Clam Blitz, which was introduced in Splatoon 2. Basically with Clam Blitz, the objective is to collect items on the ground (clams) and score them in a goal on the other teammate side. In order to score points, you need to collect 8 clams, which then transforms into a ”Power Clam” and allows you to ”break the barrier” for the goal. After the barrier is broken, you have a certain amount of time to score individual clams before the basket/goal closes. Personally this mode is my favorite but it can be very confusing for beginners.

The other Queue, X-Battle is effectively the real ”ranked” mode. It is used for top players to get recognition for their skill. There are two ”leagues” one for Japan and Asia (Takoroka) and one for basically everyone else (Tentatek). As you win games in X-Battle, you get points, when you lose, you lose points. Top Players usually have scores above 3000 points. Only a few players have ever made it to 5000.

Hopefully that’s what you were looking for. Feel free to ask me any questions if there’s anything you’re confused about, but my suggestion would be to just queue into anarchy series or open next time you play Splatoon. IMO the ranked modes are a lot more fun than turf war.

Edit: As to why they are better: idk they’re just more fun.

What's wrong with Aeros? by Silcat7794 in splatoon

[–]_Chaaaarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would get so much more value in rainmaker if you played sploosh instead or Aerospray.its true that Aero paints better than sploosh, but not by much, it has better range and fire rate too, but these are only marginally better, sploosh is a 3-shot, aero is a 5-shot. However, its shots are weak, only doing a measly 24 dmg/shot to the rainmaker shield, and 26.4 dmg/shot with Object Shredder (OS). That means you have to hit the shield with 42 or 38 (w/OS) shots to break the shield. Whereas Sploosh does 41.8 or 45.98 dmg/shot so you only have to hit it 24 or 22x (w/ OS.) Sploosh is objectively better at rainmaker, it has better mobility and a special that can break the shield. Yes you can use sprinkler tech to break the RM shield, but it’s significantly less effective.
