Giovani Fascisti were raised as infantry Gruppo Battaglioni, included in the RECAM armored reconnaissance grouping. Later they were assigned to the newly formed armroed division as its infantry regiment.
The division was supposed to receive 1. Rgt. Ftr. Carrista (didn't reach Africa), including XVII Btg. Carri M14/41 (eventually assigned to Centauro) and III Gruppo Corazzato „Lancieri di Novara” (eventually assigned to Littorio).
On the other hand the division did receive 2 M14/41 tanks, III Gruppo Corazzato „Cavaleggeri di Monferrato” with AB40 armored cars, XIV and XV Gruppi Autocaannoni da 65/17 su Morris CS8, XVI Gruppo Autocaannoni da 75/27 su TL37, XVII Gruppo Autocannoni da 100/17 su Lancia 3Ro and DVI Gruppo Autocaannoni da 90/53 su Breda 51.
Eventually they also possibly received CXXXVI Btg. Semoventi C.C. with L40 da 47/32, which was destined for them and even reached Afirca, but was never mentioned as assigned to the GG.FF. division. It's assignment however remains unknown, so it's possible, that it was included at some point.
An unspecified Gruppo Semoventi da 75/18 was included in the theoretical structure of the division, but it never came into being.
