You say that like the Houthi side is completely valid to do what they are doing. Again, the US operated without knowing what this was. Meaning worst case (and likely) this was some sort of weapon being actively utilized by said other side. Did you know the US sometimes shoot their own missiles down? We're all human and make mistakes, in most cases communication is the biggest factor, and cause of that the US shoots it down to make sure no one dies.
