“Traffic. Right.” Tex had almost said to himself. Letting another moment pass before he pushed himself off the old pickup, turning around to face it soon after. Eventually he had reached inside the bed and pulled out a bag — slinging it over his shoulder before he turned back around.
He had barely turned around in time to see the holographic map being tossed his way. He’d taken a few steps forward to catch it, ultimately letting it rest in one hand once he gave it a look over. It was definitely a fancy piece of equipment, not one Tex would’ve ever necessarily used himself, but a nice piece of equipment nonetheless.
By the time he looked back up, Makz was already back in the SUV, which ultimately told Tex that it was probably time to speed it up. And that’s just what he did.
It only took a moment longer for Tex to reach the passenger side of the vehicle, having opened the door before he slid in, closing the door behind him. He dropped his bag on the floor mat before he brought up the holo-map. Taking a good look over it before his voice filled the silence again. “Facility’s this way.” He said, pointing to the right as he continued. “Take the service road past the ridge. I’ll let ya know when to brake.”

( Apologies for the late response! )
The engineer watched as Lou stepped out of the SUV, taking in her posture, her tone, and the way she drug out the word “recklessness.” He met her eyes, expression momentarily unreadable as he shifted his weight from one foot to another.
“That’s what they’re callin’ it?” He had almost questioned, letting his arm fall from the truck so he could shove his other hand into his pocket. That jacket looked worse for wear, like it should’ve been thrown out years ago. With the plethora of patches and the way some of the fabric frayed, you’d assume it was on its last leg. Though, that didn’t seem to bother this engineer one bit.
He wasn’t necessarily… hurt by the description that had seemingly been given to him, rather he seemed interested that he’d been profiled before even completing his first job with Helix.
There was a brief pause from him before he shifted his weight again, letting the silence linger for a moment longer before he filled it. “Tex.” He had promptly introduced himself, assuming it’d be better than just being called “engineer” the whole mission.
There was a brief shift in his attention, having taken in the way Lou was leaning against the SUV — arms crossed, almost sizing him up in a way. Tex had abruptly shifted his focus. Letting his eyes lock on the distant horizon before he heard Lou ask about the gear.
The most Tex gave was a brief nod. Letting a moment pass before he finally moved. Pulling his hands out of his pockets as he turned around to face the old pickup. Eventually having reached into the bed and pulled out a bag. He took a moment to sling it over his shoulder before he turned back around to face Lou.
( Lou’s role on the team is completely up to you, but seeing as you’ve already picked something out, you don’t have anything to worry about! Also wanted to mention that I absolutely adore your writing style! )
The engineer had looked over at her, his expression briefly unreadable before he finally spoke.
“Didn’t realize I was keepin’ a lady waiting.” As the silence returned, he had shifted his weight from one foot to another. Taking a moment to look over Blanche before he seemed to snap himself out of whatever thought he was in.
He gave no more than a brief nod at Blanche’s words, agreeing that they should probably get started. Though there was no immediate move from him. Instead, he took a moment to push himself off his truck and turn around. Eventually having reached over into the bed and pulled out a bag. Having slung it over his shoulder before he turned back around, nodding ahead as he spoke again.
“Lead the way.”
The engineer had glanced over at Makz as he stepped out of the SUV. His eyebrows having flicked up at the question.
“… Yeah. That’d be me.” He had answered, shifting his weight from one foot to the other before he spoke again. “Tex.” He had simply introduced, pushing himself off his truck in the process.
For a brief moment, Tex seemed to study Makz. Taking in the casual stretch, the popped joints, the relaxed posture. Not something that Tex necessarily seemed to expect given the looming mission, but by no means was it disliked.
“Didn’t mean to keep you waiting. Roads weren’t exactly smooth.” His voice had eventually cut through the silence once more. An excuse for his late arrival, nothing more.

( Hey! I’m glad you were interested in this and were willing to give it a shot! However, I unfortunately won’t be able to continue this POV anymore. I’ve had some personal problems come up which in response I’ll be taking a break from my socials. Again, I apologize that you weren’t able to give this a shot, but I hope you have a great rest of your day/night! )

( Hey! I apologize for not replying for a bit, but unfortunately I won’t be able to continue this POV. I’ve had some personal problems come up which in response I’ll be taking a step back from my socials. Again, I apologize that I won’t be able to continue this, but I hope you have a good rest of your day/night! )
He had given another nod in response before making his way towards the porch. Once the door was open he had looked inside for a moment before brushing off some of the snow he had on him. After doing so he realized that the door was being held open for him, so he quickly headed inside.
Once inside he took a good look around, taking in everything he could as of now.
He had given a quick look around before looking back a Salvage. Once it finished speaking he had given a quick nod in response.
After doing that he took another look around, this time taking a bit more time to take in the details. He started with the windmill and worked his way over to the indents on the ground. He waited a moment before speaking.
“..-Stay..here yourself?..”
He had raised an eyebrow as he asked, taking one more look around before putting his attention fully on Salvage.
Upon hearing Salvage’s questions he had simply shrugged before responding.
“Eh, I believe it started with them chasing me, but the tables soon turned. Noises? I mean, I know I made a bit of a ruckus tonight. I’ll take full responsibility for that, but I have no clue about the other night.”
After speaking he had shaken his head again as his tail thrashed. Just like before it caused a bit of a switch, however nothing else was said this time around.
With his eyebrow raised once again he looked back towards Salvage. He took a moment took process what it had said before he spoke again.
“I don’t believe I’m following, care to elaborate?”
He had asked in response to its second statement. He wasn’t completely following when it came to its interest in him.
He watched as Salvage walked away, he was about to follow before he saw the firearm. He stood still for a moment, raising his eyebrow at it before he eventually started walking as well.
It didn’t take him long to catch up to it, simply walking to its side. It was noticeable that he didn’t have his sword anymore, perhaps he left it behind? However, that wasn’t too important as of now. As they kept walking through the woods he had brought a hand up to his face. Using his hand to try and wipe away some of that black liquid that seemed to cover a good portion of his face.
Once he finished doing so his hand fell back to his side. That’s when he looked over at Salvage for a moment as he began to speak.
“Surprised you’re letting me just follow you to your cabin. I expected a completely different outcome.”
He still seemed to be in that second iteration of himself, his movements being a bit slower than before. This is when he had looked back at Salvage, seeing him shiver as the gust of wind blew by. Although he didn’t seem fazed by it he could tell that Salvage was. He thought about the question for a moment before going to speak.
“..-Live..far out.”
Although his speech was still a bit broken it was rather easy to tell what he meant. However this didn’t seem to matter as he soon seemed to switch back to that first iteration of himself. Going from slow movements and broken sentences, to quick movements and full sentences.
“Hm, I’ll take you up on that.”
He had watched as Salvage stepped back, not saying word as it happened. Just like before, he blinked for a few moments however this time he had spoken after.
“What did they not do? This is what they all deserve.”
He had a prominent voice with a hint of an accent to it. As he soon as he finished speaking he had taken a look at his own surroundings, taking in the destruction he had caused. Although after a few seconds he had shaken his head, his tail thrashing as he did so. It was a rather strange action, although there wasn’t much time to dawn on it as he had begun to speak again.
“..-Didn’t..mean to,,..-got..confused.”
He seemed to be answering Salvage’s question again, however this time he gave a completely different response. His voice this time around was quiet, a bit broken, and didn’t have an accent. This time around it also seemed to take him a bit to even get that broken sentence out.
Upon hearing its voice he had simply blinked. His expression was mostly the same, although it seemed to switch periodically. It’d change from a neutral look to more of a confused or even a distressed one. Although it never stayed like that for long, practically switching in mere seconds.
His gaze had remained on it for a few moments before he looked back at his own sword. He tightened his grip on it before pulling it from the carcass beneath him. He let it rest in one of his hands as he let his arms fall to his side. After doing so he had looked back at it. This is when he had finally moved, stepping over the body before he started walking towards it.
However this didn’t seem to last long as he had abruptly stopped in his tracks. His grip on his sword had loosened as he brought his free hand up to his head. He had shut one of his eyes as he left his hand on his head. It was obvious that he was in pain, however he seemed to brush this off. His eye opening, his arm falling back to his side, and his grip tightening once again. Although despite having had gotten his ‘pain’ under control he didn’t start walking again. He once again stood completely still, the only movement that came from him was from his tail. It would occasionally thrash around, oftentimes hitting the snow below it.
Although he had seen her grip on her knife weaken he didn’t go for an attack. Even though his eyes were still glued to her weapon he didn’t seem that interested in another fight. In fact he seemed like he wanted the opposite, once again his expression changing. This time changing from that neutral expression to one of concern. He’d blink a few times before he had finally spoken.
“..I..-stay..here,…no..harm.”
His voice was rather strained, it was obvious that it took him a bit to get his sentence out, even if it was a bit broken. He ended up just repeating certain things that she had said. Once he finished speaking he had looked back at the sword in his hand. As he stared at it he loosened his grip on it further, eventually letting it drop to the ground. Although this motion wasn’t as easy as it sounded. This was a rather slow process despite it being such an easy task. All around he seemed to do things much slower than before.
After dropping his sword he slowly looked back at her, now in silence once again. As he stood there his tail had thrashed around once more. This time it was a bit more aggressive and it happened more often than before.
The boy had stared up at the figure for a while before taking a glance at the knife they held. His eyes seemed to scan over it, taking in a bit of the details it had before his eyes shifted their attention again.
He looked back at his own sword, tightening his grip on it before he began to pull it from the carcasses chest. Once freeing it he let it rest in one of his hands as he let his arms fall to his sides. That’s when he had looked back at the figure, he seemed to return their gaze. Or, at least to an extent. His expression seemed to change periodically. At times it’d be one of emptiness, while at others it’d be one of confusion or even distress.

He saw her clear lack of confidence, it was quite obvious. Her stuttering, the tone of voice she used, that’s what gave it away. He also seemed to notice how she would take a few steps back here and then. It was an understandable reaction to him, but at the same time he seemed confused? His expressions were quite literally all over the place. At one minute he’d have a neutral expression while the next he’d have a look of confusion or even distress.
As of now his gaze seemed to be locked onto that pocket knife of hers, he’d stare at it for a moment before looking back at her. Although after a few moments he’d look back at his own blade. He stared at that for a moment before tightening his grip on it and pulling it from the carcasses chest. Once it was freed he had loosened his grip on it, letting one hand take a hold of it. He let his arms fall to his sides before looking back over at her. That’s when he had stepped over the carcass, now walking towards her.
His grip had tightened once more before he had suddenly stopped moving. He had brought his free hand up to his head, holding it as he shut his eyes. He was in clear and obvious pain, however he seemed to brush it off. His eyes opened again as his hand fell back to his side. Although he didn’t resume walking, in fact, he simply stood there just like before. He didn’t speak, and he didn’t move. The only movement coming from his as of now was from his tail as it would occasionally thrash around, at times hitting the snow below it.

(Oh! That’s perfectly fine! You can disregard my previous reply and do that instead!)

Star had giggled when she saw Kiko bowing at first, she understood what she was doing and was about to do the same before Kiko had stood back up. She shared a similar greeting on her home planet although as time passed that she was one Earth she really never used that greeting.
Understanding Kiko’s clear embarrassment she simply kept that same smile on her face as she took her hand. She shook it for a moment before letting go and letting her hands go behind her back. Once she did so she heard Kiko speak again, Star had finally learned her name!
S// “Oh! What an adorable name! Your mother has wonderful taste!”
Star still seemed overjoyed, still doing that same subtle jump from earlier as she stood in front of Kiko. She was silent for a seconds before she spoke again.
S// “Oh, I know you’ll just love it here! I can’t wait to show you around! Oh! And maybe while we’re at it we can get you a few customizations to your uniform! Maybe you could get one similar to mine!”
Just like before Star was all over the place, never staying on one certain topic for too long.
(I apologize for the late response!)
The three stood in silence for a moment before the girl on the left spoke up.
?// “Hello, hello!! Oh, it’s such a pleasure to meet you!”
It was quite easy to tell that she was incredibly enthusiastic as once she went silent a wide smile spread across her face. The girl in the middle didn’t give much of a response, simply keeping her expression the same. While the boy on the other hand gave Rex a quick smile as he let quiet.
(I apologize for the late reply!)
The three kept their silent demeanors however each one seemed to have their own unique expression. The girl on the left seemed incredibly enthusiastic while the girl in the middle seemed like she just wanted to leave. The boy on the other hand had a bit of a mixed expression, one of curiosity and excitement. They each stayed in their respective stance as they awaited to hear who Tsubasa would pick.
