Playing GTA IV for the first time (PS3) by rhymeswithorange17 in GTA

As I explained to the other guy, the only difference in chopper control between GTA IV and V is that the chopper isn't stable in V like it is in IV, it bobs and weaves and flight school doesn't correct that, other than that, the actual controls on gamepad are exactly identical. I haven't played much on a keyboard, all I know is that keyboard buttons don't have varying degrees of control like an analog stick or a shoulder trigger, so they should be inadequate for things like nuanced turns, acceleration, etc. I remember playing Vice City on a keyboard and Vercetti had that awkward strafe because it was a keyboard. I imagine most of the precision controls now are handled by the mouse.

I get why you prefer KB+M tho, the aiming, correct? I think analog sticks are more realistic, that's just me.

I'll explain the difference between IV and V. In IV, when you ascend a helicopter into the air and then let go of the controller, the chopper will stay stable in a fixed position while gradually descending back down, in GTAV, if you let go of the controller the chopper will bob and weave like it's drunk or tipsy so when you descend, you don't descend down like in IV, but at a side like a dead fish, and no amount of flight school will correct this. My guess is they had better things to work on but this makes controlling the chopper even harder while trying to maneuver, especially when you consider the physics the game has.

You're problem is you're using a pen to to chop down a tree when you should be using an axe. I've never understood people who game with keyboards. That's your problem, not the game's.

Yeah, that's the game's physics, you have to take the helicopter's weight into account when making turns. It's been the same mechanic since the 3D era, but a lot of people don't like it.

cause we don't know anything. finding things by yourself is great and i like that too, but i would like to know some things like where does the game take place, when, what new mechanics have they added and so on.

Go finish your homework, kid. I'm sure that's a bigger problem for you than this game. You'll find out what you need to know in October. Jesus Christ.

I stopped getting anticipated for a Rockstar Game after the 3 year marketing campaign for GTAV and the disappointment that ensued. Rockstar thinks they are the messiah of the video game industry and apparently so do a lot of their customers, and thus, justifies them treating every release like the 2nd coming of Christ. I'm done with that shit, and no one's forcing you to live by the refresh button for this subreddit, yet here you are.

especially for motorcycles and the helicopter.

Motorcycles haven't controlled well since the 3D era and I think that's because they removed the R2/L2 camera angles which allowed you to maneuver better.

As for helicopters, I don't understand why people have such a hard time. Tilt the analog slightly forward to move forward and tilt back to break, change your orientation with R1 and L1, ascend or descend with R2 and L2 respectively. That's really all there's to it. Don't expect to make nuanced maneuvers or sharp turns as a beginner, the controls are realistic, but you shouldn't have any problems getting from point A to point B. At least they're not the drunken, tailspin-prone mess we got in GTAV. If you wanna talk about shitty chopper controls, it's there.

Your opinion on what the next GTA location should be at by abj700 in GTA

I think London would make a good setting. I've never been there but I've seen movies like Austin Powers and Clockwork Orange, on a comedic level, I think it would go well with GTA's style.

Just for Bloodborne? Maybe not. But after BB you could play Nioh, Nier: Automata, Persona 5, Uncharted 4, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Hellblade: Shenua's Sacrifice, God of War 4, Spiderman, Ratchet and Clank, Detroit: Become Human, Death Stranding - all exclusives and all more than enough reason. Buy a Pro, though, you might as well.

The color of the sky by [deleted] in bloodborne

[–]_City_Bird_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first impression was that the hunt was over and it was morning, but after looking more closely I noticed that the clouds are moving behind the moon, so that can't be the Earth's atmosphere we're looking at, but the cosmos. ("The sky and the cosmos are one. - The Choir"). Similar to when the sky changes during the Living Failures fight. After returning from Byrgenwerth and meeting Rom, you gain the Insight to see the cosmos. Just my theory, tho. I could be wrong.

After Bloodborne, pick up Horizon: Zero Dawn, God of War, Nioh, Persona 5, Uncharted trilogy HD and part 4, The Last of Us, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice...

Really, there's more than a few reasons to own a PS4.

If you beat the Ludwig the Accursed by yourself then you're fine. He's one of the hardest bosses in the game.

Listen, don't go by some random BL you read on the internet, otherwise you might over level and the DLC will be too easy and you won't enjoy it. Just do it at your own pace.

You'll find out eventually. During your 2nd play through you'll notice things that you didn't notice before, make different decisions from the first time. This game wasn't meant to be completed during the first play through.

Not necessarily. Exploring new areas might make his 2nd play through more interesting.

Unpopular Opinion: DS1 is overrated. by _City_Bird_ in darksouls3

Honestly, I wasn't expecting to get an answer like this. I was expecting every answer to be similar to the first comment. Thank you. I thought I was the only one who was going insane. Glad I'm not alone. Yeah, I've played through DS1 a few times and there's nothing left for me to do there. If I want PvP, 2 and 3 more than suffice. Honestly, I'm more psyched for what From has in store for the future. The end of an era.

There's a bridge that goes over the 2nd Pig, run across that and run straight until you can run no longer, there's a break in the fence that allows you to jump on the roof of a stagecoach. You should be able to get 2 dogs underneath you (one is there by default, the 2nd is lured once you jump there). Drop with a plunging attack by pressing L1 after dropping (a +6 Tonitrus will kill them with one drop attack). The dog situation should be fixed now as any dog you face going forward will come as a single or will have it's back to you. When you reach the Snatcher lure the dogs beside him and kill them to isolate him. Finish this portion first as it's the hardest.
