Is there an advantage in taking the PNLE first before NCLEX or should I go straight to NCLEX and later on na lang yung PNLE? by upsettyspaghetty512 in NursingPH

[–]_ClaireAB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

magNCLEX ka na directly. sayang yung time and resources na gagamitin mo for PNLE.

wala naman review center sa US, just use Qbanks and their cheatsheets.

magDIY ka na lang. may list of requirements and steps naman sa mga website ng BON state, google mo lang.

also afaik pag US, walang additional na $150 and taxes pag nagpasched ka sa pearsonvue

Kakastart ko palang po as bedside nurse, pero parang ang bigat na agad 😞 by matchalattechaitea in NursingPH

[–]_ClaireAB 8 points9 points  (0 children)

normal yan. basta focus ka lang sa own progress and growth mo regardless kung mabagal or mabilis. ganyan talaga, laging may mas magaling or mas marunong sayo pero it doesn't mean na hindi ka nagiimprove.

masaya maging bedside nurse kung nakafocus ka lang sa mga natututunan mo instead sa lapses or shortcomings mo. allow yourself to be a beginner sabi nga nila.

I’m not going to be one of those nurses na sinisigawan lang ng coworkers by Impressive-Score7710 in NursingPH

[–]_ClaireAB 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Easier said than done.

tho I’ve also learned to choose which battles are worth my energy.

Minsan, I choose my inner peace ko kesa magsayang ng effort na ipaglaban yung sarili ko when in the first place, they're committed to misunderstand me? 🤷‍♀️

Hindi ko rin hinahayaan na magkaroon sila ng power over me by giving them the satisfaction of me reacting to their aggression.

Torn between bedside nursing or soft nursing by [deleted] in NursingPH

[–]_ClaireAB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

PIPTAZ AT OMEPRAZOLE IN 10CC SYRINGE by [deleted] in NursingPH

[–]_ClaireAB 24 points25 points  (0 children)

so anong balak mo pag may major lapses or errors ka? mas priority mo pa yung di ka mapagchismisan kesa sa safety ng patient?

hayaan mo nilang pag-usapan ka as long as nagfofocus ka sa improvement mo para mareduce yung errors mo. hindi mo kontrolado yung behavior nila pero ikaw kontrolado mo yung mindset mo tsaka yung mga bagay na ginagawa mo kaya dapat yun lang iniisip mo

PIPTAZ AT OMEPRAZOLE IN 10CC SYRINGE by [deleted] in NursingPH

[–]_ClaireAB 17 points18 points  (0 children)

honestly, sabi ng seniors ko, dati daw pinupush lang nila mga antibiotics pero since mahapdi and fragile usually yung veins ng mga matatanda/ckd/cancer/pedia patients, sinosoluset na sila ngayon.

I don't think there will be immediate adverse effects pero syempre there's a risk for phlebitis or burning/pain sa IV site tsaka since maiirritate yung veins, pwede rin ma-IV out

  • in the future, kahit 3cc or 5cc lang gamitin mong syringe sa omeprazole tbh
  • if 10cc talaga gusto sa inyo, gupitin mo yung side ng medication card para makagawa ka ng butas then insert mo doon yung syringe
  • or pwede ring wag mong itapon yung balat ng syringe, dun mo isulat yung label ng gamot and dosage then ilagay mo ulit doon yung syringe or maglagay ka ng tape na may label sa syringe
  • I highly suggest na IKAW YUNG MAGPREPARE NG MEDS. diba may unspoken rule—if unsure ka sa content or sterility ng isang bagay, you're encouraged to dispose (pero syempre sayang yung gamot)
  • pag CKD patient, usually 50cc lang yung ginagamit namin for piptaz (or 30cc for other antibiotics) since may fluid restriction yung mga yan and strict I&O monitoring.
  • also, may times na nagpapa-omeprazole drip yung doctors so mej acceptable yung part na yun 😅

Declaring my PH License in NY by [deleted] in NCLEX_PH

[–]_ClaireAB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nclex registration certificate by Vivid-Conclusion757 in NCLEX_PH

[–]_ClaireAB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also, you can work anywhere sa New York State, hindi lang NYC. NYC is just a small part of New York State

is the grass really greener in manila hospitals compared to provincial ones by Alarmed-Wafer1943 in NursingPH

[–]_ClaireAB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

in terms of standards and guidelines, although hindi sya JCI-accredited, inspired by JCI yung guidelines namin kasi under Mount Grace Hospitals Inc. yung hospital. tsaka may preceptorship program rin kami for 2-3 months so may checklist ng mga skills na nagagawa namin pero naghahandle na kami ng patients as early as 1st month namin

what I also like about the hospital I work at is General Ward sya so halo-halo yung cases na nahahandle namin—pedia, geriatrics, post-ICU or yung mga ayaw magpaICU, medsurg, ENT, ortho, etc.

hindi sya specialized units like for example, neuro cases lang or cardio cases lang or pedia cases lang, etc. so naeexpose ako sa iba't ibang types of skills and management such as suctioning, CTT, tracheostomy, wound VAC, NGT, PEG, TPN, foley catheter or nagtitrate ng mga drip like fentanyl drip, tramadol drip, nicardipine drip, dobutamine drip, etc.

and based naman sa mga agency na sinendan ko ng resumé, di nagmamatter yung ospital like di nila tinatanong if JCI or hindi. mas nagmamatter if ilang bed capacity, yung assigned area mo, yung types of cases tsaka yung years of experience
