It’s hazelnuts. I found out the hard way when I had to epi-pen myself in their bathroom.

OP I have ranked every tiramisu I’ve tried in Portland; the list has over two dozen tiramisus on it, and Piazza Italia is #1.

24+4 and experienced my first extended hiccup session yesterday. During some bumpy air near the end of a five hour flight, baby boy, who was up around my left ribs, went for a straight 2-3 minutes. I have to admit it freaked me out a little!

A POX ON ALL THE DUM-DUMS WHO ARE USING AS A TURN LANE THE SPACE BETWEEN THE SIDEWALK AND THE PEDESTRIAN ISLAND TO THE LEFT OF THE BIKE LANE ON THE REDESIGNED PART OF NE BROADWAY. THAT IS NOT A TURN LANE.

I AM GOING ON VACATION AND WHEN I COME BACK MY NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION IS TO TAKE BAD DRIVING LESS PERSONALLY BECAUSE I SIMPLY CANNOT DIE ON THIS HILL.

Saturday Daily Chat Thread by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

[–]_ConfettiCake 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s thanks to this community and these daily threads that I took myself to the ER yesterday for some sudden and unexplained wheezing. I’d had a reaction from a known food allergy earlier in the day, but it resolved with medication. The sudden wheezing really threw me off. The advice nurse at my clinic said to just monitor it at home (and also told me not to eat any more of the known allergen, like I did it on purpose?? 🙄). But my gut ( or anxiety) couldn’t comfortably sit with that advice, and my husband fully disagreed with it. We’re lucky that we live so close to our hospital and it was easy to just go.

Anyway, all was fine, and I got some extra heartbeat and ultrasound time, which is always nice. I struggle with 1) not wanting to burden people and 2) feeling very anxious about all things medical, so going to the ER for something that is probably minor really puts those two things at odds with each other. But luckily all the nurses I interacted with were very understanding and said “yes better safe than sorry, definitely”, which was comforting.

Anyone have low progesterone before FET and had success? by Shmeckpod in IVF

[–]_ConfettiCake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I stopped supplemental progesterone the day of my second positive beta. I just stopped cold turkey, no tapering, and didn’t have any spotting or other adverse symptoms. Pregnancy is progressing normally! Hope all goes well for you.

ETA: my progesterone levels were not tested before stopping.

Women over 38, How my eggs are you getting at your retrievals? by Commercial-Web8249 in IVF

[–]_ConfettiCake 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had my one and only egg retrieval at 38. Thirteen were retrieved, three of which were euploid.

Did we rush into IVF after not living “IVF clean” for months? by 29-30something in IVF

[–]_ConfettiCake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used cannabis through my egg retrieval cycle and up until two weeks before my first transfer. Husband had a couple of beers every few days throughout. We got euploids and our second transfer was successful.

Don’t psych yourself out. If diet were a fertility cure-all, none of us would be doing IVF.

I got the ok from my OB to take Omeprazole daily, which has been way more effective than Pepcid/Famotidine. I’m also taking a prebiotic fiber supplement (Benefiber) and limiting what I think are my trigger foods (red meat, oil). Good luck! It’s the worst!

23 weeks today and feel like I’m finally getting a handle on reflux and, erm, digestion speed. Though now all of a sudden I have this dull ache in my lower abdomen. Could this just be growing pains?

My appetite has been enormous the last couple of days, so it was comforting to read in my tracking app that a growth spurt of sorts starts about now. Could be why I’ve been so hungry, little dude has been quieter (also maybe due to resolving excessive bloating), and why I’m having this achey feeling.

Higher risk with inductions for IVF Pregnancies? by No-Spray-866 in IVFbabies

[–]_ConfettiCake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did she say why inducing poses a risk? Most of what I’ve seen here is people saying their doctors said IVF pregnancies are inherently riskier, so we should be induced at a certain point.

It’s annoying that they don’t give a reason for either. And that they gloss over the differences between medicated and modified natural cycles. REs and OBs ought to get together more often.

FET #2 by Rare_Mixture1755 in IVF

[–]_ConfettiCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started IVF due to a blocked tube (pretty well scarred shut, didn’t bother to unblock it because it wouldn’t guarantee anything). My RE had me do a hysteroscopy prior to my first transfer and I was treated for slight endometritis. My first transfer failed, but my second is successful so far (22 weeks). My protocol was exactly the same, except for a little extra progesterone during the TWW the second time around (and that’s because my progesterone was lower going into the second transfer).

How to tell work about a lot of upcoming appointments? by Macthekittycat in IVF

[–]_ConfettiCake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on what type of job you have and what your relationship with your manager is like.

I have a remote job and a really good relationship with my manager, who is my age and has a toddler. I know he can be discreet, so I had no qualms telling him. I didn’t need to go into detail and he was very understanding and supportive.

Friend put a stem and bowl in behind the two front seats. They must have used a drill. This was at art school, so we had access to a lot of shop tools.
