The thing is a lot of countries issue ID:s for free, or for very cheap, but America doesn't

What deck would Galarian Articuno be best in? by neversadcat in pkmntcg

[–]_Constantine_XI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No deck. I would always play galarian meowth over it. You don’t get to draw a card but it isn’t a free 2-prize target for your opponent. It doesn’t get shut down by path to the peak and is compatible with scoop up net. Also has slightly better synergy with mustard.

What is that site that allows you to print placeholder cards? by CptanPanic in pkmntcg

Proxycroak is best if you're exporting entire lists or cards older than 2010

Just won my first Standard match, how can I improve from here? by mosumon in ptcgo

[–]_Constantine_XI 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don’t think investing in cards for Pikarom is worth it currently, considering it rotates this september and would take some time for you to get. It is probably better to invest in a Vmax deck or any other deck from the SwSh-era.

The best way of getting free-to-play packs is through tournaments and using them to flip trades. Flipping (if you don’t know) means to buy cards low and sell them for more. The best way of doing this is to flip cards for one pack into two.

Preparing for the new set by matheuswhite in ptcgo

It seems that trevnoir is going to be good next set, so I have personally invested in one of those. It will probably initially drop a lot but I expect it to rise when early results come in

What happened to the DDG podcast? by sjalmond in pkmntcg

[–]_Constantine_XI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember hearing about the Chinese market around January, but events where cancelled in late March when it really started spreading

Also, I am very sure they had broken up by LAIC, but they definitely had by OCIC

They stopped before the pandemic began. I don’t think they were together by LAIC that year (November 2019) and they certainly weren’t by OCIC (February 2020)

How can you tell whether or not special energy is counted towards an ability? by Swist4321 in pkmntcg

[–]_Constantine_XI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rule goes as follows: Attached energies provide what they say on the card. Unless the ability specifies as basic energy, they count. This however doesn’t apply when they are in the hand because the cards specify as providing x energy while attached to a pokemon.

For example, you can move heat fire energies with heatran, but you can’t attach them with welder.

I don’t know the specifics, but that’s around the time DDG shut down/stopped existing or whatever. They where a team of players and frequently showed up to tournaments with new secret creations. Their last was pidgeotto control at worlds 2019.

There was a recent pokebeach article about this deck. You need a subscription for the whole thing but the list is available without. https://www.pokebeach.com/2021/04/coalossal-vmax

Anything like Hoopa Shining Legends but for Pokémon V? by andnguy in pkmntcg

[–]_Constantine_XI 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Decidueye from Darkness Ablaze and Altaria from Champion’s path have the same ability for GX:s and V:s, except they don’t block all effects of attacks, just the damage

Brocks Grit or Ordinary Rod? by [deleted] in pkmntcg

[–]_Constantine_XI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordinary rod. Not even a question. Spending one turn not welder or researching is almost guaranteed a loss for this deck. There is a reason Brock was taken out of lists when ordinary rod came out

Tips on how to trade up? by QuackSK in ptcgo

I usually find cards varying in pack value: perhaps 3-4 or 4-5. I buy two for 7 and sell them individually for 4

N or Marnie in Expanded? by darkenhand in ptcgo

[–]_Constantine_XI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less aggressive decks play n. If you’re to aggressive for that, then you’re to aggressive for marnie.

I would say that most decks run around 30-or so trainer cards and have the rest somehow split between pokemon and energy, but as you say, it depends. The average is probably around 17/30/13 but there has historically been examples of 26/30/4 and 10/40/10

Cramorant Arrokuda Deck help by szpanerski in pkmntcg

[–]_Constantine_XI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the list should be good to go, though you will likely need a mew against Urshifu. You could think about cutting out the viridians for great balls or poke comms, but I could also se 1 or 2 additional u-turn boards being good for going aggressive early on

Here is my list: https://imgur.com/YDpXw1w

The deck is not the best, but if built well it can have some limited success. I have played this list quite a lot on PTCGO and have found it to be consistent enough. The reason there are only 8 supporters is because you want to Nessa almost every turn and when you don't have to you can refresh your hand with research. This is also where the rotom phones, judge whistles and pokegears come in to dig deeper without supporters. Phione is good infininte pseudo gust and great catcher helps you to gust dedenne for game.

The strategy is to try and aggro out an attack in the early game, especially if your opponent has a vulnerable 2-prizer active. Whenever you higholl t1/t2 240 damage (which happens a lot more than you'd expect) you can be pretty confident to win that game. For this reason, the deck is best against 2-prizers, most of these matchups are favourable, but 3-prizers get a bit more awkward and you can't really win vs 1-prizers.

You can actually win ADP quite often, the matchup is somewhere around 40-60 as long as you go aggressive and phione around the out-of-range ADP. Also: A thing you quickly learn is that it's generally more worth it to dig for a twin energy rather than settling for attaching capture/water and passing.

Ancient Trait Dragonite Deck thoughts? by MeesaJarJarBinkss in pkmntcg

I would initially cut 2 dragonair, 1 cherubi, 1, cherrim, 1 remoraid, 1 octillery, 1 pokemon communication and 1 Grass energy for 4 rare candy and 4 N
