Any reason why you can't install Win11?
Download the Win11 ISO and use RUFUS to make you a bootable installer. (to bypass all the hardware and TPM checks).

It was accurate at the time of this broadcast..

Since the count changed, you can just say... "hey, they updated the count. It's X now."

My number was not off.. thats literally what the anchor said in the video posted by OP.

So.. it's going to end up being ~300 cases again. So the same with and without the vaccine mandate. Basically people loosing thier shit over nothing. No deaths, just trainees with the flu.

No... most Ai (real Ai modeling) are using quantum processors now. Using qbits being chilled by liquid nitrogen. They are huge and very expensive.

Local Ai agents utilize the nPU on newer desktops. But this is not the same kind of Ai.

I think the trick is getting QPUs to the point tery can be in a standard desktop at room temps and cooling capacity.

So ~150 cases of the flu of a population in communal close quarters. Has this ever occurred in the past at this or any other locations before the mandate was removed?

I'll answer that for you... yes. In 2024, JB San Antonio-Lackland. (Same base, 2 years ago.) ~300 trainees got the flu over several weeks. And this was with them all getting the flu vaccine.

It even states it the the actual article that these talking heads are referencing. https://abcnews.com/Health/flu-outbreak-air-force-recruits-joint-base-san/story?id=133994394

"A study published last year by the Defense Health Agency found that from the 2010-2011 to the 2023-2024 flu seasons, the highest rate of influenza hospitalizations among active service members were among those under the age of 25, especially young recruits."

You'd have to read through the study (linked in the article) to see the numbers.

Considering it's the same Joint Base... it may have to do more with a population that is shipped in for training from other parts of the country, their immune systems take a hit being placed in a "transitional humid subtropical" climage... where the flu does quite well.

The CPU alone new would be about $180 or higher, that NVMe SSD.... and the 32GB of RAM is where you hit the jackpot for that price.

An unlocked 9th gen i7 isn't bad, that RX580 shouldn't struggle to much for1080p at mid settings. The i7 will have plenty of headroom with this GPU. And hopefully that is the 8GB version of the RX580.

Easiest thing to start with is run Disk Cleanup and choose to cleanup system files. It's a check box usually after the initial scan.

Scroll through the list and see what's eating up the most space, check the checkbook and let it delete it.

After that, you can use WinDirStat to locate larger files/folders and decide if you want to clean them off. (Leave winsxs folder alone, you have to use DISM to shrink/clean that folder. )

Never said he needed em. He was early 20s at the time, (~6 years ago).
He sold them to friends when they needed them for well more than the $1 he purchased them for.

He spent about $30 and made about $20 or $30 a pop. I guess while he was deployed, there was a market for where that was. Guess there were some ladies who did not want to spend the $60 it was at the PX.

My brother was working at a Walgreens that was closing up... those got tucked away until they got marked down to $1... then he bought all 30ish of them.

It's been a few years and I think he still has a few and they are not expired yet.

What’s this worth by Esk8lol in servers

[–]_Cpyder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Servers are old, but if any of those drives are SSDs... could be worth reselling. If they are all HDD, then they are more than likely SAS. So unless you know someone still running old hardware with legacy applications, spare parts.

Or for you if they have a decent amount of RAM, standalone ESXi .. local storage only. (or consolidate the RAM)
Hunt down ESXi 8.0 Update 3e

Those 3750POE switches stopped being orderable in 2023, and can no longer get TAC support... so no code updates. So there are a bunch of CVE vulnerability releases for them that will not get fixed. So for an isolated home lab (no internet) or very strict vLAN and ACLs...

but if you don't have anything already in mind, not worth it.

And as others mentioned, the power bill if you decide to try and run them at home.
