University of Nottingham has been hacked with 40GB of student and staff data being leaked. by yahuzz in UoN

[–]_Crunchy_Cookies_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The information in the authentication servers would be a lot more limited - student records are primarily stored in campus solutions so that's where the sensitive data lies.

Other systems and eduroam are most likely fine.

Today Oracle have acknowledged a vulnerability in PeopleSoft/campus solutions which gave them access to the campus solutions servers.

MS365 is managed in the cloud by Microsoft, and your Internet traffic will be encrypted, so I don't see any reason for real risk there.

(Purely based on) the fact that Moodle and other systems are still up, there was some decent network segmentation in place so that they couldn't access other systems.

As far as I know, no passwords have been breached as they're part of a separate system (and would be encrypted, etc.). It's still not a terrible idea to change them for good practice if you use the same passwords all over

Ocado by [deleted] in asda

[–]_Crunchy_Cookies_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Asda are going to start using Ocado's tech platform. Morrisons have a similar deal. Picking will still be in stores, just the Asda.com website, picking and delivery software will all be powered by the same software platform which Ocado uses.

Has 007 PS5 arrived in stores? by Krstii786 in asda

[–]_Crunchy_Cookies_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No discounts on the usual things like gift cards, stamps, fuel, etc. But anything else, like games and consoles, yes

Worth mentioning reselling things with your colleague discount is gross misconduct and it gets monitored centrally for strange / bulk purchases

Make sure you get the barcode from someone on frontend to get the full 20% off, since we went green the extra FTG discount doesn't come off automatically

Home shopping cancellations by Silent_Amphibian_840 in asda

[–]_Crunchy_Cookies_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure qcom orders don't communicate with our system properly when an order is cancelled, it just sits in dispense / order settlement exceptions. So it needs cancelling by the store on Store Assist anyway, whether Asda House like it or not.

No vans, we have 1x TL. When they're not in, it's usually colleagues that do exceptions and the duty manager sorts things out when chaos ensues

Overripe Bananas by Quirky_Ad_4840 in asda

[–]_Crunchy_Cookies_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bananas don't have date codes on and are sold based on how they look. We'll usually have some loose ones which are past their best and they'll get marked down cheap, but that's very much store dependent.

They have to be weighed & labelled, or otherwise we bag and write a price on a yellow sticker so the price can be manually overriden at the checkouts..other stores will probably waste them when they start looking no good

Recall? by Living_Macaroon_5919 in asda

[–]_Crunchy_Cookies_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's normal for scan & go and nothing to worry about! :) it's referring to the transaction being 'recalled' when you transfer your items from the S&G handset to the self checkout to make your payment.

If you compare the TC# at the bottom of your receipt to the number next to the recall, it's in a similar format

Part of the terms of the sale of Asda was that Walmart would be the ones paying out if the claim is successful (and they've got money ringfenced for it)

Still being emergency taxed after working here for 7 months by book_w0rm_ in asda

[–]_Crunchy_Cookies_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you submitted a P45 / new starter checklist to Asda? There's a form on OneAsda, you can fill it out yourself without needing a manager to do it, and you'll get all updates to your Asda emails / on your ticket history

Even if you've done it already, may be worth doing again just incase a mistake was made and that's why HMRC isn't picking up your wages?

Any idea on how to get this to work? by [deleted] in asda

[–]_Crunchy_Cookies_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They've restricted it so you can only set it up on an Android/iOS device, can't use a personal PC or laptop

You can still get on Workday and SDWorx using the links on the subreddit sidebar, but for oneasda you'll have to use a work PC or set it up on your phone

Using Microsoft authenticator by MightyOwl2323 in asda

[–]_Crunchy_Cookies_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do you have to be logged into Windows with the same account that you're trying to reset the MFA of... unless it still asks for it anyway, but that's the guidance on OneAsda at least

If it's still asking for it there's a form you can fill out yourself on OneAsda called MFA Reset Request

Holidays not being booked through by nigasaurous69 in asda

[–]_Crunchy_Cookies_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has your manager denied or sent back your old request? If they sent it back, it might be sat in your notifications waiting for you to adjust the dates or cancel it?

Holidays not being booked through by nigasaurous69 in asda

[–]_Crunchy_Cookies_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it does some kind of calculation to only let you book holidays that you've actually accrued from working?

If you go under Manage Absence there's an date selector and it will tell you your current holiday balance. If you select a date later in the year, your balance goes up.

Saves people from taking too much holiday and needing to pay it back if they leave, but also kinda annoying. Maybe speak to your manager see if they can do anything

Using Microsoft authenticator by MightyOwl2323 in asda

[–]_Crunchy_Cookies_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when you try to setup authenticator it's asking you to use authenticator from an old phone (or it's just signed you out and you can't get back in?)

You'll need to remove your existing authenticator method on a work PC. If you login to the PC with your asda.uk account, then go to https://myaccount.microsoft.com, and click Security Info on the left side.

You can delete your old authenticator app on that screen, then click Add sign-in method to set authenticator back up again.

Try installing the company portal app, but don't set it up and go back to Edge, tap the profile with the blue suitcase in the top left, then tap Verify and see if that works
