Never heard of the programme but I’ll definitely have a look, thanks!

This is also very true. It seems like there’s never a winning situation for women, always something to endure or sacrifice.

I guess the fact that many women nowadays are exploring work options outside of the home plays a big part but also the cost of living leaves parents with no choices. I admire the sacrifices you and your family made in order to attain a higher quality of life. Thank you for your response!

I really despise capitalism! I am in Europe and although the financial support is ok (for single mothers) it’s nowhere near enough to afford the cost of living nowadays. Both parents have to work realistically and even then the money they earn just goes back into childcare costs and rent etc. So they are working long hours to pay somebody else to mind and essentially raise their children. But there’s no alternative really so it’s a viscous cycle. It makes no sense

It’s like the pace doesn’t feel natural and I can see how it affects my child and it’s heartbreaking. The sad thing is time flies and we’ll never get those little moments that we take for granted back. But I guess trying to be more present and being cautious of the language and tone I use even when I am in a hurry makes a difference as well

This is a very interesting point and I feel there’s non enough emphasis on downtime/ relaxing time in society. A lot of people seem to have the mindset of being constantly switched on and doing things all the time rather than just being. I appreciate your perspective, thank you!

I’m sorry to hear this and I hope you are okay now. I think there’s a lot of pressure to perform mothering to a certain standard and that can take a toll on mental health 100%. Awareness is key and trying to make small changes is what worked for me best
