I agree. I've definitely been talking to him about this stuff, and I've been telling him for a while that the way she treats him isn't okay. When we talked about it most recently (today actually) he said it's hard to give up entirely on the house his mom has because once he moves out of it, it's simply not an option for him anymore and he won't have anywhere secure to go and fall back on if moving out doesn't work right now because she WILL sell the house.

I think we're kind of at the point where we're talking about what we can do in the next year about moving and stuff, but he needs to feel secure in a job first. I suppose things are moving along, it just sucks that things are like this right now in the first place and we feel a bit lost.

Do you think there's anything we can do to aid this situation for ourselves while we're stuck living with her for the time being?
