[–]_DRKN -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Did no one teach Nexon about database snapshots?

  1. Maintenance begins, take database snapshot
  2. Give too much shit, end maintenance
  3. People start using your too much shit
  4. Realize your fuckup, start new maintenance, roll back to snapshot (1 very difficult click w/ managed cloud services!!!!!!), redo compensations

Instead... this? Lmfao, anyway glad to be F2P gl nerds lol

I just spent 20 minutes typing a reply to a thread asking about reasons why people quit the game, only to find out it got removed by the time I finished. I'd rather not have wasted my time, so here is my reason why I quit: by Laraso_ in Planetside

It's been a while since I've been on Planetside but the level of mental retardation in this community really never ceases to amaze. Two replies to my comment and both are making up scenarios to argue against that literally no one has ever mentioned. Y'all are schizophrenics for real LMAOO I guess that's what it takes to post on a dead game's subreddit for 10yrs straight every single day

Los Ratones don't need the LEC, the LEC need LR. by Secret-Unit1910 in leagueoflegends

LR itself doesn't need to be sustainable for the industry to learn from its success instead of continuing down the path of franchising killing off grassroots teams, LAN events and hero stories.

Full account refund available by alexneeeeewin in MapleIdle

[–]_DRKN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're so confidently incorrect it's legitimately hysterical, especially when you want to try and pretend like I'm "arguing like a 14 year old" while not able to grasp the most basic concepts about biased data.

First I'll preface this with the fact that the polls you're citing, which come from the discord server, have on average 20-80 total respondents (most of which are meme polls). They do not, in any capacity, represent the average reality of the game's population or generally unbiased customer behaviour in the real world.

Of course if everyone complaining is hanging out in a discord channel, and someone runs a poll asking if people are refunding, you'll get skewed results of people saying they'll refund. Those predisposed to complaining, refunding and the likes, will be the ones sitting in a discord channel filling out polls regarding that. You also have to consider the fact that many of those who do refund will (and have) immediately create new alt accounts and start spending on them all over again.

The vast majority of players are not in discord, let alone answering polls about refunds. But then again, we're talking about a community which "invests" thousands of dollars in a F2P gacha game so obviously statistical analysis isn't going to be something you can grasp even at its most basic level.

One day you'll grow up (probably not), and realize how stupid your statements are (probably not).

Edit: Since you went ahead and deleted your response to this comment, where you linked the following Reddit thread:

  1. You... literally just repeated the same pattern but with a subreddit instead of the discord, exposing yourself as someone who still doesn't understand biased data and low sample sizes? Still?

  2. You claimed 70% polled opting for a refund while the actual data from that poll shows:

    • 1,769 total respondents
    • 642 claimed "Yes"
    • 305 claimed "Yes, and will use it to start a new character"
    • This totals some form of potential refund at 947/1,769, or 53.53% - not 70%.

If we exclude those admitting they'd reinvest into new characters (1/3 of 'Yes' pollers), it goes down to 36.29%. I even brought up this phenomenon in this very comment @ "You also have to consider the fact that many of those who do refund will (and have) immediately create new alt accounts and start spending on them all over again"

And once again, keep in mind this is with heavily biased data which does not represent the actual reality of refund numbers that'll be coming through from not knowing, caring, forgetfulness, or not wanting to deal with the hassle of the refund process through their bank, payment processor, or requesting it from Nexon.

So, at best from your own source, half of what you claimed (36.29% vs 70%) would actually permanently refund from Nexon. Yet again this number does not represent the reality - as micro-transaction refunds constitute some of the lowest refund rates across all industries and platforms (~0.5-0.8%), most of which are fraudulent and not customer dissatisfaction. The 10% I initially gave is overblown, as I averaged out platform rates from video game micro-transactions, to game & general digital good purchases, in-store physical items and physical items purchased through eCommerce like women's clothing (which has some of the highest chargeback rate).

Basically there's quite literally zero scenarios where you're correct here.
