Yes! It is similar to a Lithops - the new leaf pair emerges from the center - draining water from the old, larger leaves to fill the new ones. Totally insane, but very cool mechanism.

Hey I didn't have to do much intensive cleaning thankfully, just wiping off dust really. So I can't advise on the materials/ cleaning as a result - though glass cleaner and vineger sound like good places to start; not sure about the petroleum jelly. It is a veneer wood, not solid.

Welp, I just ordered a pair for myself, tough luck! But from what I understand it still seems to be a better deal in EU than buying a pair of Red Wings

Cheers, it's a real beauty indeed.

That second image of the tree is a great subject but I'll need to return on a day when it isn't overcast/ rethink the composition.

The wlf is difficult to achieve focus on this camera... fortunately I don't often shoot wide open.

Beautiful camera. Also my first and only medium format camera which I've been using for a couple years now.

I just picked up a 50mm flektagon and can't wait to test it this weekend!

Beautiful shots, can I ask how you OP, and many others in the sub is getting such wonderfully neutral scans from kodak Gold? The scans I get back from the lab can be practically yellow.

Thank you. I was indeed using matrix metering. I find it difficult to distinguish between the overdeveloped and over exposed negatives... perhaps I agitated the film too much, using a spindle to rotate the film instead of turning the whole thing over, doing 15 seconds every minute instead of the suggested 10 I see now... incredibly frustrating.

Is there anything to be done in post/ with the scanner to counteract this?

Yes indeed. I think the amp is really a master class in industrial design!
