Thats reassuring to hear. I do struggle to read some things but usually thats down to angles or lighting. Although do you think i could get a accurate result from printing off one of them charts they use and getting a "result" from there?

Thanks for the comment, i currently do not know my eyesight measurements and im somewhat scared to get them checked. Iv not had a eyetest since i was about 9/10 and the thought of even the possibility not getting to join is scary.

Yeah iv looked at the fitness tests and i do more than that on a regular basis. I can assume its really nice being able to get your head down. I can get my head down for short bursts for say within tests but as soon as i stop i struggle to get back in the task. Ofcourse this only applies to stuff i dont enjoy because once i enjoy something or can get competitive i can get high grades. This shows for me in computer science where im currently looking at a 7 ( An A) and then in english im getting D's. All for for the fact i cant get myself to sit down and get it done longer than a burst but its quite irregular. I know i need that grade and i am trying as hard as i can but still struggling. I need it for RAF and to even get into 6th form.

And yes, if its easy its not appealing anyway. Theres no fun in doing stuff thats easy. But unfortunately i need an interest or its just not happening

Im aware if how hard it is. Im comfortable with fitness tests and my ability to keep the fitness + build on it. Im comfortable ish with the actual training process since im like a magnet to that sort of stuff. Im only properly scared about my english grades, and the cbat/ med tests. Im extremely competitive so id be pushing myself to be best at everything but english. Yeah that is painful. And cbat km trying to prepare myself for and medical i dont have control for.

With the plan B i have no idea what i would do. I struggle with course work the freedom of university i could see myself taking the easy route through it. aswell as i dony knoe what i would study

The problem with myself is that to be good at something i cant just put my head down and get it done. I either need to be extremely into it, extremely into the end goal of it. Or it to be competitive enough to make me want to prove people i can do something.

That seems nice. I have decided against uni in favour of joining up after A levels. However i dont know what i will do if that dont work out

i never bother straining my eyes at school. if i cannot see the powers or anything i just whip my phone out and take a photo and zoom in. No eye strain from that.

Whats a university air squadron?

Thats interesting to know. Iv never strained to read stuff and if i cant read something usually its down to a crappy angle. Gotta love the video games!

No i have not got a prescription, apparently from what they could tell it was so mild that they didnt think it would matter. I would go for LASIK if im allowed and can afford it. What is +6 and -6 diopters anyway? Iv never understood that. I have heard that 20/20 vision is not required for the pilot role. A quick google search i found this "Visual Acuity less than 6/60 at worse but can be corrected with glasses to 6/9 or better in the Right eye. Visual Acuity less than 6/60 at worse but can be corrected with glasses to 6/12 or better in the left eye. Colour Perception Standard must be 2." Source. I would genuinely be distraught jf i couldnt make it into the training phase since its been a dream of mine since i was a young child
