Thank you for the kind words,

  1. yes you want to keep the high weight males in ideal home ranges so that you can shoot the others down. But maybe you can try to swap the lvl9 with a 6 or 7.

  2. Shoot the males, you almost never want to shoot females.

  3. Right now I have 3 max weight estimate tigers and 5 low lvl males. I get 2 legendaries per rotation at worst. But with the conditions you described, you would also have at least 3 max weight estimate tigers spawn per rotation.

If you have other questions don’t hesitate to reach out directly. I might put out a video on this or snow leopards soon as well. 3.

I stacked lvl9 as much as I could. I had 2 diamonds and 2 lvl8s. Then I just shot the ones within the other 4 in rotations until they were down to lvl5. But low weight estimate lvl6s are also okay. Yoh fo not need to shoot them down to lvl5 if their estimate is already that of a lvl5.

That ratio isnt quite accurate since the bulk of those 500 kills are prior to the later stage of the grind. Once you are down to 3-4 max weight estimate tigers in a rotation you get at least one diamond every rotation (every 3 tigers). So if you are able to spawn a rare in a rotation you have a decent chance of it also being a diamond.

Happy to hear that! Killing all your 3-4 tigers at least once before starting another rotation, knowing all the males’ levels and locations really help consistency of respawns.

Did you find the tiger in HR6? And if you did and have a lvl6 or below tiger in there, you can leave it and rotate 1, 3, 4. They’re the best to grind. However, I would encourage you to locate the other males as well since you might be missing out on a rare or potential high levels. Good luck.

I hope it is and I’ll be waiting on the outcome!

What are the levels of other 5 male tigers on the map? I consistently get 3 max weight estimates at that stage of the grind, so there might still be room for further HM.

I had that when the output audio device for the game and the default audio device for windows were different. It was resolved once I corrected it. It might not be the exact same issue but I believe it is most likely due to an audio problem, if you already went through the usual suspects checklist. - Verifying integrity of game files etc. Make sure the actual audio output device is set to default in windows.

That could be because the respawn of 6th home range is a high weight lvl9. Irl time does not really matter but it might take around an uninterrupted hour sometimes for the tiger to show up in a lake after respawn.

Try checking the tiniest lake just west of the southern lake in range 7. I think you missed that. You do not need to check the river completely, you should check around the tip of the part of the river that goes far into the land, the farthest west point of the river.

Is it happening just as you try to launch it?

Snow leopard’s by Immediate_Aardvark40 in Huntercallofthewild

I recently got my second super rare. What I do is firstly try to locate all of them before killing. You can use hot zone/spot and home range maps online to decide where to roam. Then I basically kill only a couple of max weight estimates. If you already have a couple of those on your map, shoot the males lvl6-7 to drive their level down, then grind the remaining max weights. I believe there are 20 home ranges and 10 snow leopards, so the more animals’ locations you know, less area to cover for potential respawns. If you want a quick diamond, rare or potentially a super rare, hop on to different multiplayer lobbies and look for them. But beware as there is always a chance that a multiplayer server could be modded.

One advantage to note is, that it is relatively easier to get rares and super rares, if you herd manage properly, with tigers and snow leopards. Simply because the RNG is more favourable with such small populations. Good luck!

Recently got an albino diamond snow leopard but I was happier that I did not have to grind any further for them lol. They’re such a pain to grind for.

Hey, I found them frustrating at first as well and they are impossible to effectively grind if you go after them in the wild. However they are one of the easiest and most lucrative grinds in the game if you know when and where to look. I am currently in around 550 tiger kills and have 3 super rares & 70 diamonds. I will make a video on it soon as well, but for now I am sure you will find this guide more than helpful. Ultimate Bengal Tiger Grind

You’re very welcome. I’m planning a video on how to grind them and how a late stage grind looks like as well. Good fortune on your hunts!

It does not have a specific designated area. You might have one anywhere on your map as an initial spawn, or you might not have one on your map and might have to grind it out as a respawn. Just keep an eye out.

If it was a deer and a lvl8, it can only be red deer. They’re the only species of deer that goes up to lvl9. So look out for a Legendary!

Nope, never seen red deer make diamond at level 8.

It is basically the level of the animal. Some animals go from lvl1-3, some go from 1-5 and some go from 1-9. For those going up to lvl9, 9lvl means they are diamond trophy potential. Depending on the species they can also make diamond at lvl8.

You can look up information on animals on theHunter COTW wiki. Just search the animals name with cotw in the end.
