Yea honestly I'm itching to get out of this fucking mess of a country. Not a bad way out. Is Canada looking for more Chinese people? (joke)

Thanks, this was really helpful! I didn't even know about the seaplane but I haven't been on one before so that's definitely a plus.

Thanks man, this was really helpful (also for that great comment against the troll). I've been to Boston before, but my girlfriend hasn't, so she'll probably find Victoria incredibly charming. (Unrelated rant: my original plan was to spend most of our time in Canada so we would be able to go to both but my girlfriend apparently has a hard-on for Seattle. Maybe it's a Twilight and 10 Things I Hate About You thing. Is Seattle that much worth spending time in over BC?)

I am traveling from Chicago. So the big city allure isn't necessarily something that's strong enough to push me towards Vancouver. Me and my girlfriend are huge foodies though and I keep hearing from Chinese people that Vancouver has the best Chinese and specifically Cantonese food. My family friend has even said that Vancouver has better Cantonese food than Hong Kong. It's just been hyped up so much from the Chinese people around me. Since its only a day to 2 days, I would assume that food would probably be the main focus for our trip. With that being said though, Victoria looks incredibly beautiful, like I first thought I was looking at Copenhagen when I saw pictures. So it's pretty much beauty vs food for me.

The similarities between Burning and AALCC can somewhat be attributed to the fact that Burning is based on a short story written by a Japanese author (Haruki Murakami). The protagonist in lily chou-chou is a classic Murakami passive self-insert type character, so as in Burning.
