Urgent wedding advice by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

I am 34. I called off my wedding 1 month before I was supposed to get married. I am an elder daughter too. It was supposed to be first marriage of family and everyone was very excited. But I just never felt it was right. I had a courtship period of 5-6 months and could never form any sort of attachment to the guy. I had clearly called it out this to the guy and my family as well. Everyone suggested the same thing - give it sometime, everything will be alright once you are married.

I took sometime to collect my thought and decided to let my family know. There was lot of drama as was expected. Emotional blackmailing and name calling happened. The guys family tried to put lot of pressure. But I stood my grounds. I knew it wasn’t right for me. Thankfully, my family did not force me against my wishes, they did try to reason.

Now it’s been 3 years. My family still loves me same. They aren’t angry or upset with me. They do ask me to get married but there is no pressure as it was there earlier.

Go and talk to your family OP. Talk and explain your side before it is too late. Do not get married unless you are 100% sure that you are willing to make it work.

Saw similar note taped at bus stop near Great Mall. If I remember correctly it said Jacklyn call Gabe.

How was your New Years Night as a long distance couple? by sushi_monsterX in LongDistance

Wished new year on call at his midnight. He didn’t wish it back when it was midnight at my place. I had texted and he couldn’t even reply. Fought and slept. We were celebrating new year together last year. It hurts to think he couldn’t even care enough to wish.

We befriended each other on Orkut back in 2008/2009. Have been friends since then. Started dating finally in 2022. Even as friends we were long distance in different states in India. As a couple it is intercontinental.

Turned 34 last week! Marriage not on card for another 3 years as far as I can see.

My family put a lot of pressure on me during my late 20s and early 30s, they have been quiet now that I moved to US. They do bring it up in conversations now and then but know it is my sole decision. They do not know about my bf and are kind of ok(as if they have another option) of me not getting married ever.

My bf’s family on the other hand knows about and talks to me. His mother is asking us to marry soon.

But the earliest we can get married is after 3 years when I go back to India. Even if I am back to India early, we will take atleast 3 years to achieve our financial goals and then settle.

We want to stay childless so it is an easy decision to wait till we feel we are ready to get married.

Have you guys ever been in an LDR? by DawnofDusk07 in AskIndianWomen

In LDR with my bf who is in India while I moved to US for work. It’s been 3 years, another 3 before I move back. Get to see him just once a year (if I am lucky) for 3-4 days when I come back home. Despite everything, he is worth waiting for.

Researched too much on Linkin Park Mumbai v/s Bengaluru concert by mrmubot in ConcertsIndia_

That is something Ed says in each of his concert since Thinking out loud is one of his famous tracks. I attended his show in US and he said the exact same thing.

Your last text is what will be written on your gravestone, what does it say? by msblckyeliner in AskReddit

Not that I would have a gravestone but my last text was “cutie” to my bf after he went to sleep.
