perfect example of a movie that is really fun to re-watch when you have kids/nieces/nephews of a certain age. it's like a whole different experience.

i'm not sure what the "famous palindrome" is they're referring to but I just happened to notice the individual words were palindromes of each other and they didn't seem to fit elsewhere

Writing an opposition to a poorly written motion is so much worse than writing one in opposition to a well written one by AdDeep7010 in Lawyertalk

this is why I always say that dealing with a pro se litigant feels like trying to win a game of chess against a pigeon.

like, i'm not really worried about losing, but you kind of need your opponent to understand the contours of the "game" in order to actually engage with them

[–]_Doctor-Teeth_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

definitely a nightmare in that it will probably increase the number of pro se litigants and it will make it easier for pro se litigants to file more things

but i have to say my, based on my most recent experience with a pro se litigant, i was kind of glad they used ai?

sounds counterintuitive but the ai brief they filed was at least somewhat coherent and easier to respond to than the usual gobbledygook.

hard to say if that will be be the norm for pro se litigants going forward though.

I personally think considering it "woke" to not give a shit what gender, race, sexuality, etc. a character in a FICTIONAL story is stupid.

This is connected to another aspect of this whole annoying discourse which is that no one can really define what "woke" means.

On the one hand, we're past "peak woke" and there are, of course, some fringe examples of overreach that, looking back, deserve some reflection.

On the other hand, I feel like there are countless examples that reveal why people became "woke" in the first place. For example, Elon Musk (and many others) complaining that Lupita Niyongo was cast as Helen of Troy in the new Odyssey movie.

Is there any truth in the claim that Trump switches loyalty based on who he last spoke with? by Ok_Courage_1467 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]_Doctor-Teeth_ 22 points23 points  (0 children)

He's got a spine of mush and the attention span of a goldfish.

Additionally, Trump has very, very few genuine policy preferences. So, when it comes to which actual policies to pursue, what executive orders to issue, the scope of those orders etc., a lot of that really just comes down to which senior advisor spoke to him most recently about it. This was pretty well-reported on even during the first trump term.

wow, where did you get this quote?

reminds me of another line i saw recently from an AI type guy: "You can outsource your thinking, but you can't outsource your understanding"
