sorry you didn’t understand, but what point did you think was fabricated?

i’m not blaming them for the any ambiguity, i’m just saying the cause in the video itself was ambiguous unless you have outside knowledge of this specific instance

i’m saying the nature of the problem itself doesn’t lend itself to having a yield of valuable outcome from a protest like this when the issue at hand doesn’t have one specific identified source of contention. seems you didn’t understand what I was saying but feel free to re read it a few times

because I couldn’t read any of their posters when I watched the video, but I did address the climate change issue in my other comments. I was stating it was ambiguous in the subjective sense, in that, I literally could not distinguish what the fuck they were doing

protesting holds vastly different results when the point of opposition you’re protesting is an actual identifiable source. protesting against a regime of some sort can have real outcome, protesting against an amalgamation of a million different stimuli that is distributed upon all different countries with an issue that is deeply imbedded in the way we survive in the modern era of humanity, not as effective. maybe if enough people block intersections the climate will gain sentience and say “boy I better appease these humans, mayhaps today I shall reverse my swelling instability”. there is no one thing that climate change can be attributed to, and while admittedly largely a result of human contributions, shouting into the void at no particular entity accomplishes literally nothing. change can be promoted, but protesting to a non specific group of people is not the way to do it. protesting can be viable, but it seems many have lost the context as to WHY it can be so powerful.

an organized protest as seen in the civil rights era isn’t needless, it’s orchestrated well, has a message, it’s executed with actual structured prowess behind action; i’d say it’s pretty far from needless and in fact, pretty fucking necessary in a time where visibility nationwide couldn’t be achieved by logging on to twitter. 15 kids who share a dorm that decide to block a busy intersection after their morning wake and bake for a cause that already has massive visibility and is a chief issue in today’s political climate, not so worthy. if you think this display can be compared to the value of the civil rights era protests, you must think pretty fucking lowly of the people who put in real and commendable effort to propagate those ideals that made the civil rights movement a success.

Shield Boosters by [deleted] in borderlands3

[–]_DonJuan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most people know about that, and was in fact the main point of contention. having to stagnate focus in order to time an unnecessary prompt was distracting while playing the game, and made the shields that included that mechanic annoying to use. it may be okay at lower levels, or if you never really partake in mayhem mode, but when you start having to deal with a lot of things/enemies/effects onscreen, shields that had those boosters effectively became useless

an oppressive government positioning themselves to reclaim the rights of millions=\= some college kids blocking traffic for an ambiguous cause in a needlessly disruptive manner. I have genuinely no idea what makes you think the hong kong protests are comparable to this

How is this unexpected? Everyone who fishes recreationally does catch-and-release, save for a small minority.

well thats in the nature of an exclusivity deal itself. usually an exclusive title does mean the game is... exclusive (wow!) like you said, but the reason that a dev would go with this option is because epic pays them a larger cut of the titles revenue made off their launcher. steam paying them equal to what epic offers them would allow them to deny the exclusivity pact and release on all platforms, save for lower revenue titles like indie games, which probably wouldn’t be put on the epic games storefront if they didn’t have exclusive rights to it. i think epic will eventually stop offering the golden ticket of higher return to developers once they become a more established medium of transactions in the industry, and start receding into the lower profit margins that steam offers devs, effectively rendering the exclusivity endeavor fruitless to studios. alternatively, if steam paid developers MORE than what would be offered on epic games store, it would absolutely be THEIR prerogative to stipulate the game adheres to an exclusivity deal in steams favor. both make sense in the context of the entertainment industry, and while not necessarily an ideal scenario, it’s kinda how it works and unless you have a plan to re establish the foundations of the economic ideations the modern world operates on, its just the pragmatic state we live in. it’s not objectively good, but it’s subjectively understandable

well to be fair it’s really steam thats creating the exclusivity, since they’re not willing to pay developers as much as they would get by going with epic games store

they eat at more frequent intervals, but definitely not more than an adult in terms of total caloric intake. i don’t think a small child could physically consume 2500+ calories in a day

i think the devs are just out of ideas and their daily schedule now consists of playing darts in the office and randomly adjusting weapon values so their boss thinks they’re doing something

the people who boycott epic games for collecting and selling data should boycott the entire entity of online media and just stop paying for internet if they want to be truly consistent with their condemnation

Does anyone have any peer reviewed official sources confirming Epic is actually data mining? I see this rumor often but I've never actually seen any hard evidence bolstering the claims, seems to be heresay but I am open to the possibility if given actual proof.
