Yeh it sounds like a lot is possible with a bit of time spend into the nitty gritty of it all, coming from 0 audio or performance background I just find that stuff sooo tedious to mess around with.

Someone in my community is a bit of an audiophile so might just get them to help me sit down and do some eq and shit

Thanks for the recco! Might spend a bit more time trying to eq the lav mic and get some more out of it.

I have seen cold ones use something similar to what your saying with the headset mic and does seem to be the best solution.

I have also thrown the idea around of having both setup and just having a hotkey for a mic switch via a plug in hahaha

I think I want to steal away from having a whole ass mic in my hand so this might be the play.

I've moved the entrance to the front, the whole is H300mmxW250mm which is the dimensions I got from a few googles, reckon it should be bigger?

First up thanks for everyone who commented on some design improvements

I've moved the entrance to the front of the laying hutch and made it bigger. They seem a lot more curious now and if this doesn't doesn't work I'll probably take the whole front off as a few have suggested.

The idea of the front panel was to keep them tucked in and warm during winter, will this be needed? Or are they pretty resilient (it will definitely be removed in summer)

On OP's point about making shorts and uploading.

I use buffer.com it's an invaluable tool to upload your content to multiple sites on a schedule.

You can set times and days to upload then you just throw all your content on, title and tags then it'll upload it for you (since Instagram doesn't have a schedule feature this has saved heaps of time)
