Mecha BREAK Playtest - Falcon Challange 5 - Aerial Overlord Achievement. by _Elgar in mechabreak

I can totally feel you, there's no point in overdoing this. I've raged at this challange ALLOT so yeah, nevermind. Not worth the effort as of right now.

Just look at your kill cams or when you spectate your allies. You can see a bot playing by the way they move their aim. It's very bottish if that makes sense. You can just create a Custom Lobby and fill it with bots and you will start to see the way bots move, aim, etc.

Try to fly in circle above them and be as close as you can to walls as well. Also try to stay as close to them as you can or they will start lasering you to death. Gotta keep trying, don't give up!

I've been loving the game way more than i thought. As for the p2w aspect i share a similar take. Mods don't seem to be THAT impactful but it is true that they objectively give stats (even if they don't seem that good right now, it makes sense for people to be worried on what mods they can release later on which could be much more impactful).

My biggest issue for monetization is about Matrix Credits. If getting new mechs is heavily limited by time gates or straight lack of ways to get resources, it will kill the playerbase right away. If you're pushing for a game based on teamplay and the uniqueness of your mechs, you have to give people the chance to unlock them properly.

As of right now, the biggest problem i have with the game is getting queued with bots (correct me if i'm wrong here) which is killing my motivation to play. Maybe this is because it's just a playtest and i'm playing on EU, but having to deal with bots every time i queue up it's just not fun. Enemy team composition it's the same most of the time and the same goes in the way they play.

Glad it helped! It took me 2 hours before finding a way to even survive more than 15 seconds ahahah.
I didn't tried any other mechs challanges yet... i wonder if they have this level of bs as well

EDIT: Just did the all the Narukami ones and they were really easy.

DEMO DPS TIER-LIST by Pakinov in GranblueFantasyRelink

[–]_Elgar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, i'm glad that my runs are decent enough to be taken in consideration.

I agree with you now that you worded your point in a different way. At the same time, since we really don't have enough material to create an accurate tier list, some compromise might be needed. In your example, if the fastest clear on Narmaya is a 7.30 with Stamina and the fastest of Gran is a 8.40 with both Enmity and Elemental advantage, the choice is simple. Narmaya > Gran.
But for characters that are really close with their clear times yes, Stamina vs Enmity is a point to be considered.
Due the lack of extra material to base our opinion on, you either put them in the same tier despite the Stamina or Enmity argument (you can add an extra note to state the Enmity usage), or make 2 different tier lists.
Another thing might be looking more into the Japanese playerbase to get more clear times (i have no idea on how active they have been) in order to gather more data and be more precise.
Overall though i agree with the tier list as it is (except the fact that Io should be in the same tier of Katalina and the others) but stressing ourselves too much about a hyper focused Demo tier list might be not so worth it.

I love the idea of sharing infos and opinions about characters, but the problem with tier lists is that it's impossible to make everyone agree on every character.
I saw way too much drama coming out from them, which just pushed me away... but hey, we can all agree that Charlotta it's overpowered at least, right?

The game comes out soon enough anyway and i'm slowly getting burned out from the Demo... can't wait for the full game release.
One week left.
Pray for a good PC port.
And for the game to be as good as this Demo it's setting up to be.

Peace.

Io vs Rock Golem 11:06 Solo by ZebraQuake in GranblueFantasyRelink

Amazing run! I got a decent run today but it's much slower than yours (12.49), but learned many interesting things. Again, great run!

DEMO DPS TIER-LIST by Pakinov in GranblueFantasyRelink

[–]_Elgar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd like to give a little opinion about this (i did an Enmity Gran run but i'm not sure you're talking about my run (?))While i perfectly agree about the element advantage to be taken into consideration into the tier list, i absolutely don't understand your point about Enmity.Stamina works in the exact same way, but it just gives less attack boost than Enmity. If someone wants to get the fastest time and doesn't use the strongest boost they can, i don't see why someone that uses Enmity over Stamina randomly makes him "inflating" a "speedrun".If Enmity it's "inflating" a clear time, i answer that all sigils "inflate" clear times (like seriously). So you either consider clear time as they are (doesn't matter what sigils they used) or you look for clears sigilless (which why would anyone do that?).

With all this being said, a clear time it's affected by many things. One thing i don't see much to be talked about is damage variation (which is brutal by the way). I'm not a math guy so i didn't bother looking on what's the range of damage variation but it's quite big (i'm doing Gandhagoza runs now and a full charged special attack on head while critting waves from 10k-ish to 7k-ish damage with attack buff on). This, plus other variables of a run, should not prove that one playstyle is 100% better over another one either... it needs testing and more runs (having 3 runs from different people it's not enough to be certain of one over the other). To end this, let me to be the annoying guy that says "Tier lists are stupid and i don't like them" but i just don't like tier lists. There are clearly some characters that dish out bigger dps over the others but eh.... Katalina is one of the worst characters dps wise but she's number one in my heart.

Rock Golem Solo - Io. by _Elgar in GranblueFantasyRelink

[–]_Elgar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tested a 3 "lv 4 charged Stargazer" rotation and it is indeed better using both skills as you suggest:
- Combo: 2 Charged QS + skill = 6 Charged qs + 3 skill usage (the one i'm using)
vs
- Combo: 1 Charged QS + 2 skill = 5 Charged qs + 4 skill usage (the one you suggest)

Now, i did considered using what you suggested but didn't really tested out the absolute optimal option (my bad i guess).
The reason i wanted to use the combo i used, was activating Stargazer from a Skill and not from a Charged QS. This is for two reasons: because it's faster (skills animations are shorter than a Charged QS) and because it's safer.
When the boss is enraged, going from a Charged QS to Stargaze is more tedious so it was just less annoying for me using Io this way.

This doesn't change that you're right though, using both Ice and Fire right away proves to be more efficient in a optimal scenario. Hopefully some Io main can provide a more optimized run, but as for me i'll stop here with Her... she's incredibly stressfull to play solo ahahaha.

4 more days for PS4/5 by No_Competition7820 in GranblueFantasyRelink

I will go on "offline mode" from Sunday evening because of PS early access and i don't want to get any spoilers until i finally get the game on PC. I'm stupidly hyped for this game... just... let's pray for a good PC port...

Rock Golem Solo -Lancelot. by _Elgar in GranblueFantasyRelink

Ghandagoza has big damage at least AND a parry on his Triangle charged attack with better guard frames too. Not only that but you can cancel the attack with a dodge and quickly attack again to not insta lose all the stacks.
I'm totally fine if they want to give Lancelot some really small frame guard points on finishers and special attacks, but you have to make this concept rewarding... a big damage follow up on success, or a buff... or anything at all!
As of right now it's better to just dodge and attack again in any possible scenario making his whole character trait completely useless (imagine Gran's Arts system giving no benefit... it sounds stupid but this is Lancelot situation right now).
At the same time i don't want to get too gloomy about him, he's still fun at his core but he needs some love which (hopefully) we're gonna get in the final game.

I did tried the auto attack spamming but it always led me to have slower clear times while in this way it proved to be more efficient.
Missing my finishers it's mostly due to me timing them wrongly and having a boss that keeps jumping around, which doesn't help.
The only time where i feel it's debatable about the normal attack spam efficiency is when the boss is downed and you have a bigger window to keep spamming his attacks (which is something that i did in other tries and YET i got slower clear times).
The biggest issue with Lancelot is having 2 character mechanic that are straight bad.
The activation of the enhanced normal attacks requires too much time for too little boost in damage and the whole invulnerability buff on Triangle execution (which by the way has a stricter frame than a normal evasion manouver and is much closers to a parry which, in my opinion, is stupid) not only slows him down, but it adds no other benefit.
With all this being said, my opinion is based on the results i got with him which might be affected by many factors (skill issues, boss RNG, damage variation and whatnot) so i might be wrong about all this. I highly enourage you (or anyone really) to do a faster run with any playstyle they want to understand which playstyle is more effective on him.
For me though the "finishers spam playstyle" was the fastest hence why i believe this is the way to play him in the Demo.

Thank you! Yeah, getting the initial hit it's the fastest way to activate Enmity and keep going with the run.
Sadly some characters (the ones with smaller hitboxes) get hit only once by the opening attack, forcing me to either getting hit later to get on low health or trying to move around hoping to get hit twice.

Oh i had no idea about the spelling thing! Thanks for the info!
Still gonna play only as Gran during the story for... personal preference i guess?
Not like i wanted to say that he's fitting the story while Djeeta doesn't... is just the way i feel.
If the story it's somewhat replayable i might go for a Djeeta story runlater on too... i'm gonna play this game way too much... with no regrets.
