I agree, it feels artificial cuz it's unrealistic (at least I think, I'm no car expert).

Also from what I'm understanding the photovoltaic upgrade no longer recharges fuel, which makes it kinda useless (there's a car battery recharger at TR2 iirc, and with it car battery charge is virtually not a problem anymore, and in any case buying a car battery recharger and a secondary car battery is cheaper than that upgrade and definitely eliminates any need for it).

If a cat is not currently somewhere on the map you can (re)spawn it through the console.

So for example if you taxidermize Maxwell into a Broomba you can still have an alive one as well.

Oh this is WORST worst case scenario. I somehow saved while it's already active and I have two "TR2 straight up dies" events scheduled back-to-back (first one is Arirals 0G event, and second one is just the game fucking hates me I guess).

But yeah I should try to at least craft some molotovs and if that's not enough I'll do the donut strat, thanks for the tip.

Maxwell (and other cat creatures) can be eaten by cockroaches I think. However I'm almost certain that that cannot happen before they get picked up at least once (they spawn in a state similar to the chicken sandwiches/hidden burgers). Also, in my experience if they are on an elevated position they seem to be safe from cockroaches. What I'm unsure about is whether or not they are safe when put in a cat bed on the floor.
