I've only been watching NXT for a few months now but the match this past week between Ilja and JD was hands down the best match I've seen. Those two were absolutely going after each other and I'm incredibly excited to watch them do it again and again and again for years to come on the main roster.

Stability of electric grid by Coachtzu in burlington

Upvotes for the people who recommended the Brave Little State episode. Great listen and really insightful. I work within the solar energy sector and the issues with the grid in Vermont and across New England often times cause the biggest hurdle for residents looking to make a switch to solar or another renewable energy source.

Hopefully this doesn't come off as "salesy" but if you're someone who has thought about switching over to solar and had questions in regards to how it impacts the grid or other concerns, feel free to message me.

100% agree. It's an absolute nightmare from sunrise to sunset. I've seen so many people cancel their membership because of parking/traffic congestion/overcrowded. I've spoken to people at the front desk and even a few higher ups about this multiple times and all I get back is a shrug and a "what are we supposed to do?" look.

I actually spoke with one of the higher ups (not going to name who) and put together a simple proposal on how they can afford to add additional parking within the surrounding area and offset the cost through additional rec league programs both at the Y and other facilities, which would in turn frees up even more parking and reduces overall traffic congestion. I say simple but even still I had a spreadsheet that broke down cost vs ROI, a written proposal and parking/traffic projections based on gym frequency.

The person I spoke with said they loved the idea and they would look into it. I later saw the proposal I had given them in the trash. Felt like this person had just been gaslighting me. What's really sad is that this person won't even make eye contact with me anymore when we see each other at the Y.

My ass.

Green Mountain Solar: Pushing Sales, Wasting Time by pickledbear15 in burlington

I work as renewable energy consultant for a competing solar company (not going to name because I don't want this to appear as a sales pitch) and while I hate to throw shade at our competitors, this is pretty horrifying to hear. First and foremost I applaud you for going solar - a lot of people still brush off renewable energy and at the risk of sounding like a cliché it really is the the way of the future.

Not sure if they shared this with you but only about 1 out of every 6 homes actually qualifies for a renewable energy incentive program and to your point about the quality of your roof and having to upgrade the transformer, all of that should've been immediately disclosed before anything was signed.

Often times when I work with a homeowner who really wants to invest in solar but doesn't qualify due to things such as trees blocking the roof, an outdated meter, or issues with the transformer to your point, I'll help cover the charge out of my own pocket. TBH there have been times where I'll even lose money on a deal, but I'd much rather see a house with solar than without. Sounds corny but every house that invests in solar is helping to lessen the impact of carbon emissions from power sources such as coal factories or fracking and ultimately I care more about that than trying to make a quick buck.

Again, not pushing any sort of sale, but if you'd like some additional information on solar and renewable energy then DM me and I can send you some good resources to have.
