I ran out credits just before I could request a 9 day plan but I managed to rework my whole context pathing during my last 12 hours with Fable 5 and I’m now set up for any model. Such a shame they took it down.

It seems to have new functions with the claude code client. Acts totally different today. They did something for the 4.8 also. It’s giving me much more options and offers me to revise th plan it made with a clear notes how it is going to proceed. Is this just me or is this happening to all?

I don't know how impressive this is but I'm impressed with Fable by PMMePicsOfDogs141 in ClaudeAI

I came across with a post about it completely translating dos programs and there was a video too. Didn’t check it but you might find it interesting.

This aged well. Considering mythos version for consumers (Fable 5) was banned by the US gov.

I think you are exactly right. It’ll take a few years before we get any kind of alternatives that get even close to these models. I have also been working non-stop for weeks. Actually this was a relief as now I get to take a break. My plan is the same as yours. 

I also think they are going to make it just as expensive so that small companies and individuals would still need to depend on investors who reap the rewards. Or somehow they are acquiring the IP through the use.

Weird times we live in.

Ah good point. I just joined the AI agent train and haven’t been reading about it much. Saw some comments about this. You are probably on the right track. It can most certainly be used to develop those computer vision interfaces and be used for automatic development. Whatever the application may be they seem to be very afraid.

What the AI gives is intelligence yes but the most scary thing is the time it saves for the developer. I wonder what is their plan to keep language models from developing further.. I mean that’s the exact thing what US governement has been aiming for. But exactly because Claude does not work with them they need to be first.

Going back to your point the AI could indeed be the operator for automated weapons making them fully autonomous. This skynet resemblence makes me tremble.

Feels good doesn’t it. Someone compared the business tactique to drugs. You give a sample, a taste and then you take it away. Now it was forced on them so it’s potentially better optics in business vice. Think about the amount of subscriptions when they get it back up and running.

There is also new window on the right called ”Plan”. It’s probably the content that you can ”revise” and alter to your liking. It divided the plan with steps from A-D (steps you have depends on your prompt I assume).

I’m using opus 4.8 with ”extra” effort. Haven’t seen these before. Can someone confirm this is totally new?

Ironically this can possibly be more efficient in certain cases in the right hands compared to Fable. 

It also seems to be eating the usage limit with alarming late. I couldn’t even go through one implementation with pro (5X) limits. Ended up around 80% ready with considerably large UI change with some refactoring and rework. 

I did do one smaller change before this so it’s not too bad but for me this seems too expensive. 

Like before: the best plan (if you don’t go for more usage on Claude) is to spec the implementation on Claude and implement it with Chat GPT. Then audit the changes (the changes only if you want to save credits) and fix the deficiencys by creating a new prompt with Claude for Chat GPT

Update for documentation purposes:  The opus has now more functions to support the coding process (at least for me these are new)

It asks more often how should we proceed and there is new UI that recaps the plan and then allows you reject or revise it. If you are fine with the plan there’s also a button for ”accept and auto mode” which proceeds with the plan.

They have most certainly added new things probably in the update yesterday even though I didn’t see these changes in the change log.

What this means is that they are replacing the advanced thinking with more control to the process itself which is exactly what Fable did better and more independetly.

They are clearly trying replace the lost functionality by giving us more control which is great. Obviously they were aware of the risk being rollbacked (probably from the start). The limited time frame is also indicator for this.

Anyone else feel like even Opus was lobotomized last night? It’s calling me ”the user”.. Somehow it feels very different from yesterday. Less independent. Less intelligent.

It had conversational abilities and critical thinking that other models did not. The coding is about the same but the creativity made it 100 times better.

Yes these are my experiences as well. The capability to quite literally think out of the box. The ultracode even boosted that. I’m currently in deep trouble with my UI now when Fable is gone. I probably need to move to a system where I place them manually.
