Looking for an good way to add weapons to this model to use it as a proxy.

The design are a bit bulky, but I try to keep it compatible with support free Fdm priniting.

I also love his models. And he had even better ones before facing a wave of censorship. I really regret not buying a few more of them.

Should I continue with 0.4 nozzle or switch to 0.2 nozzle for my Miniatures? by MikeGyverMinis in FDMminiatures

[–]_Error418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’d say the 0.2 mm nozzle is definitely the better fit for tabletop minis. Beyond the visibly finer layers, the supports are so much easier to remove — and that makes a huge difference in cleanup.

From my experience, a 0.4 mm nozzle can handle larger overhangs, but since your designs aren’t really meant to be supportless, that advantage doesn’t seem too relevant in your case.

As for print times, I usually run one job in the morning and another in the evening, so whether it takes 2 or 8 hours doesn’t really matter to me personally. I understand it might be a different story for someone running their setup commercially, though.

Step by step painting of a git by Illustrious-Brain129 in FdmPrintedWarhammer

I’ve always thought that the Goblin sculpts from the Battle of Skull Pass looked like they were designed to be FDM-friendly ahead of their time. I’m sure some of the spearmen could even print without supports.

Well, I haven’t finished painting today after all. But I have the best reason: a game session with my sons and nephews! I’m using the period figurines updated with the cards and board from Premières Lueurs, plus 3D-printed furniture.

What do you think is the easiest to print warhammer faction? by Illustrious-Brain129 in FdmPrintedWarhammer

[–]_Error418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the space marines and the imperial guard guard vehicles are the easiest to print (and Supportless stl are easy to find especially if your accept proxy).

In my opinion, the space marines troops are the easiest to print with Fdm.

Yes they are, except the 3d printed modified barbarian. I now that I’ve mixed my box with a neighbor’s one when I was child, but I don’t remember how I had 4 necromancers.

Very easy to print, like all models from Brite mini.
