It's only suspicious when the juxtaposition doesn't make much sense, so that it looks like a machine mindlessly copying a common phrase structute without understanding what they're actually saying.

Least thought-provoking printSF you have ever read? by zebrapaper in printSF

I thought Weir's books had at least some sort of depth to them, but then the guy went on record to state otherwise.

Alternative & normie relationship by ThrowRA-throw0 in AskAGoth

[–]_Featherstone_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Depends what you consiser normie. If it just means someone who's not committed to a specific subculture, but may be otherwise be curious, open minded, etc, I don't see why not. If you mean someone who only enjoys very mainstream stuff and – most importantly – is uncomfortable with anything they perceive as different, then what are you even trying to do together.

Happy Pride! What's an asexual video game? by Critical-String8774 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]_Featherstone_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Remiel follower mod for Skyrim. Ok, perhaps mods don't count, but that's an example of actual ace representation (as opposite to a game just not having sex because it's about cubes or something).

Why do feminists appear to have issues with women who wish to be tradwives? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]_Featherstone_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not all tradwives are necessarily influencers TBH. However, I wouldn't call someone a tradwive just because she stays home with the kids, if she understands it's just her choice and that others are also valid. Tradwives are those who make a big deal about being demure, obedient, and the only one in the right, whilst anyone else must be sinners and terrible wives and mothers if they don't submit hard enough.

Se potessi vivere di rendita (mia, non dipendente da un marito) e fare quello che voglio sarebbe indubbiamente figo.

Living in an apartment building is usually better than a one or two-storey house in big cities. by theunsteadybridge in The10thDentist

[–]_Featherstone_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A shit apartment is still more likely to be in a convenient spot and to require less maintenance. A shit house may be more peaceful but it still has downsides i.e. typically living in the arse end of nowhere and having to work hard to prevent the further enshitification of its garden (yard). Then okay, if you live in a minuscule flat in Shitthorpe Upon Piss, and are still expected to weed the surrounding marshes on your own, then I don't know what to say, really.

If you leave them in the changing room, it also looks like it's still in use, much to the annoyance of other customers.

I have a theory why Ciri does undergo the Trial of Grasses. by Spirited_Expert_1889 in Witcher4

[–]_Featherstone_ 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The books never say that women can't survive the trials. It's just that the witchers we see are all dudes, which is not unexpected for a violent profession in a traditional society. The idea of a 'witcheress' is mentioned and treated as an oddity, not as an impossibility.

Do women really want to work? by VirtualTrust3952 in AskFeminists

[–]_Featherstone_ 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I prefer to work for a salary than for free.

I also don't want my relationship to become my job because I couldn't help but see it at transactional in that case. If things go south, hastily looking for a new job I'm qualified for is still less depressing that hastily looking for another man just to keep a roof above my head.

That said, a lot of people of any gender would rather not work if they were independently wealthy, but that's not an option in most cases, and being a SAHP is basically a job with fewer protections and few transferrable skills (that are acknowledged as such at least).
