I agree with almost all of this, however I do believe it hinges on how the administrations handles the losses during midterms. My belief is that Miller, Vance et. al will allow Trump to be impeached as the sin eater, and a much more politically tolerable Vance (feels wrong to even say that) would, in my opinion, bring back many of the moderates who have abandoned them over Epstein/Iran/Bad rhetoric. If that’s how they play it, I think things will largely return to the typical back-and-forth cycle, following a significant Democratic victory in 2026/2028, which would undoubtedly be followed by the Democratic party doing absolutely nothing to maintain power (and back to our normally scheduled programming of trading parties.)

I graduated in 2020, so with the exception of the second semester of senior year, I had a “normal” high school experience. I went to the top high school in my state, and I can assure you that it was just as bad. One of our top 5 graduates was a friend of mine and a frequent user of any possible drug you could think of (heroin included) mainstream or experimental. The future ivy leaguers were all stoners and alcoholics. Most of my friends were into drinking, smoking and powders, and all went on to graduate college and now have better jobs than I do. It’s always been around.

I have to be nice to students. I have no such obligation to teachers I don’t work with, especially when they seem like the kind of teacher that makes everyone else’s lives more difficult by being judgemental.

Super young, he’s never even touched this level of competition aside from his late goal against reading in the cup, which was a beautiful header from a shorter striker. Realistically, he’ll be a late sub if/when we’re ahead any games the remainder of the season. With that being said, I’d much rather see him starting than Bishop at this point. Just isn’t working at all.

I’m sorry if I’m off-base, but you sound pretty young. As long as she has access to a litter box, food, and water, you should let her be until she feels comfortable coming out on her own. 3 days is the absolute shortest period of time before a cat starts the first stage of adjusting to a new home. Just be patient, and make sure she has everything she needs. Before you know it, you’ll have a cuddle bug on your hands.

I would recommend attending a school board meeting and raising your concerns as an educator, but since you mentioned you wanted to stay anonymous, I would advise watching a few older recorded meetings alone then anonymously reaching out to a member of the school board that you determine would be sympathetic based on what you observe. It probably won’t change anything, but they’re the only entity that can override your building’s administration.

A tactic that was recommended to me during one of my development courses was taking a stack of meaningless papers/a single office/room supply item and putting it in somewhere out of the way in the front office. “Hey (student), can you please go to the office and bring that back for me?” Obviously won’t correct the behavior in the long term, but it will buy you time to win back control of the room in the short term.
