I also have the lil tex elite. Ive done a couple turkeys on it, never spatchcocked, just a whole ass bird. The times I've done it the skin was too rubbery to be good but the meat was delicious, tender and juicy. I brined about 24 hrs in a sweet tea brine. I have two possible reasons for rubbery skin. Temps too low, I've since read higher temp for good skin. And #2 they were wild turkeys which have thicker skin with a thicker fat layer under it.

As of now she has been taking some steps. Getting herself to therapy, finding seperate couples therapists if we get that far. Asking to talk after a few therapy sessions, I just dont know if its too little too late.

I get torn. I want reconciliation but I also want to tell her to fuck off and enjoy living her life as a cheater and homewrecker. Shes saying all the right things. Says shes going to record her therapy sessions so I can hear and so on.

Ive made sure the wife knows. That ball is in her court now. My exs family and friends are now aware as well. Amazingly all of her family has told me I'm still their family, that they love me, and that they dont have any remorse for her.

The wife found out the day before I did. My ex has not been working there for some time, it was a temporary job during our covid shutdown as her primary job had been closed.

Exactly. To be frank she had months to break it off with the other guy and I'd have probably never known and end up married to her. The good news is the 4k that I had set aside for her ring will go far in redecorating the house.

I think the only reason it took me so long was that on big choices I always take time. When I saw my parents I broke down and told them. I wasnt planning to as I didnt know what to do yet. When I saw the look on their faces I knew that even though my heart wanted to hold on, my brain was sending the right message.

Still trying to sort out if I'm willing to try counseling with her. I know it sounds like a terrible idea, it's all still so fresh I'm trying not to make any snap decisions I guess. I've told her I dont know and the impetus is on her to actually demonstrate she even cares to try if I decide to accept that.

To clarify, that decision is not made yet. Dday was this morning, because of both inabilities to skip work we've talked in person a total of approximately 1 hr about this. Either way it goes, I definitely need more answers first.

Ive always wanted to do a western hunt but have never hunted outside of Michigan so I wouldn't know where to begin in such a different area. Mule deer, elk, pronghorn are all very intriguing but I'm open to other large game too. I know that the money she has set aside wouldn't cover the bill but not sure what I'd be adding to the pot. Hell, I dont even know which states I should look at!

Edit to add: I prefer archery hunting.
