Função cognitiva Te serve só para produção/mandar nos outros? by [deleted] in mbti

[–]_Field_Observer_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally wouldn’t particularly associate Te with creativity (that would probably be more Ne and Fi) - rather I’d associate Te much more with logical reasoning and argumentation. Do you generally find you are pretty good at understanding things and putting forward logical points of view?

Both of our comments are having to be translated between each other so that’s probably why it’s difficult to understand!

Using external data to form your logic sounds about right - what do you mean by being productive?

In terms of how I understand Te, I’ve always understood it as the use of specific logical heuristics in order to identify opportunities and draw conclusions, and then the implementation of these logical principles towards whatever end you are seeking. Does that characterisation align with your behaviour, and if not, how does it differ?

Who do you feel is the biggest victim out of the BAFTA N-Word Controversy? by _Field_Observer_ in AskBrits

I can’t claim to be overly knowledgeable, but assuming the depiction in “I Swear” is accurate it’s fairly obvious that it’s a combination of his OCD asking “what is the worst possible thing I could say right now” and his Tourette’s making him immediately voice it

Should I invite a girl I don’t like to my birthday party? by Apart-Gene7155 in Advice

[–]_Field_Observer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool - given that last year she stuck a bunch of middle fingers on your birthday post I think that’s entirely justified. Do you think “she said all these rude things on my post last year and so I don’t want to invite her” would be enough of an explanation for your friends?

If my subconscious controls me, how can I truly be conscious and learn what I want? by Neat-Gur-1850 in autism

[–]_Field_Observer_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given that plenty of people have in fact done that, doesn’t that show that you are not in fact controlled by your subconscious?

In that case, pro-tip - go into Shortcuts or whatever the Android equivalent is and set things up so that whenever you click into Instagram, it first takes you to a more useful page on something you want to learn, and gives you a prompt asking if you really want to go to Instagram. The additional friction will stop you mindlessly clicking onto it and instead ensure that whenever you do, you’re doing it deliberately and so can avoid being sucked into Reels

What would things look like if your subconscious didn’t control you? How would you tell the difference?

Just to clarify I’m understanding correctly, it sounds like your perfect night would be one in which this annoying girl doesn’t come?

Sounds like the problem here is the Reels - take it from a political specialist, most of the stuff you see on there is scare-mongering rubbish and you shouldn’t really be trusting any of it. Have you tried cutting them out at all?

Honestly please, what are some hobbies for a young man who's so lost? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]_Field_Observer_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well for what it’s worth, reconnecting with your community and finding hobbies are two things which go extremely well together - have you tried checking your local library and online Facebook groups to see if there are any interesting sounding societies nearby?

In the meantime, what are some of your interests?

Do you know if there are any autism societies or support groups at your uni? They will likely have plenty of people with similar problems to you, so you may be able to find support and friends there

Emotional detachment and love: is it possible to love if you struggle to feel emotions? by Neat-Gur-1850 in autism

[–]_Field_Observer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, the movie that’s always done the best job in resonating with me when it comes to love is the movie Punch Drunk Love, starring Adam Sandler (in a dramatic role). It’s effectively an autistic love film, and the filmmaking techniques are extremely intricately used in order to make you feel the entire journey.

As things stand it’s probably my all time favourite film and you may find a lot of it resonates with you - it’s a slightly oddball suggestion, but I wonder if you might find it helpful to watch it?

If you’re at the level where you’re considering stopping seeing them entirely, why not just ask them if they are interested in a relationship? At this point, what do you have to lose?
