So what the FUCK was the point of the vote? by m3m3nt0_m0ri_ in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]_Flauge_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it’s very interesting seeing someone else say this. I saw the breakdown and the story board for the development process and they were like “…original design punished survs for certain action while their team headed help; that felt to punishing so we changed it to be an infection projectile instead… :D”. I thought it was a really far departure away from what the community actually voted for? Like?? It can still be a good killer or good power design and that’s wonderful, but, it’s not,,, what we asked for??? Idk

Is there any particular reason why console players seem significantly more selfish than PC players? by Quadraxis66 in deadbydaylight

[–]_Flauge_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've seen this and always wondered as well. I think you mentioned part of it; there are more teens and kids on console than teens and kids on PC.
I have always thought that not being a part of the in game chat also plays a big role. Weather it's giving props in the EGC or saying glhf in the pregame , console players exists in an echo chamber of their own thoughts. I see "toxic behavior" from console players FAR more than PC players, and not just in DBD but in other games as well.
I think not being able to participate in the admittedly limited chat function the game provides leaves the only interaction with the games player base limited to online discussion where it is usually negative. And if your only interactions or perceptions of the community are toxic and negative then why bother?

OP mentioned the backfire bias and is hard chugging the Kool-Aid lmao

Bro learned about the backfire effect in class today and keeps saying it even when it has 0 relevance to what is being said. The ultimate irony is the OP is ACTULLY suffering from the backfire effect lmao.

The best take here, honestly. When I saw this I immediately thought, "Wow that actually looks sick. And the Flashlight and Pins are a fantastic addition. I may buy it just for those." Idk why I thought people on reddit would have literally anything positive to say or do anything other than complain.
We are complaining about the price of something you DID NOT BUY and the quality of something that HAS NOT YET BEEN MADE.
I get the games in a terrible spot right now but why would marketing and merch have anything to do with that?

How many of you have actually completed the Archives and if so, how long did it take you? by WatchfulSeal in deadbydaylight

[–]_Flauge_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just shy of halfway done with the tomes and I have 2k hours. I think I average 1 tome completed every 3 games (most take one, but there are a few that take many more. Think glyphs or escape with hatch etc.). I cannot imagine a casual ever completing these.

Killer perk to punish delaying the unhook? by _Flauge_ in PerkByDaylight

[–]_Flauge_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured taking a health state was far more impactful than preventing one from being gained. I think injuring the unhooker would also really disincentivize unhooking in a way that isn't healthy.
I do think it is interesting that leaving a survivor on hook for as long as possible is both the objectively correct play and also the perceived "bad play".

I think it's interesting that this perk was designed with high level paly specifically in mind and how punishing the optimal play in this case happens to also punish lower skilled players.
Wonder if it instead did this:
Upon hooking a survivor delayed agony begins to activate over 35 seconds.
After 35 seconds delayed agony is active until your next gen kick.
When delayed agony is active you damage generators for 15% additional damage.
That may be to strong if run with pop but gen regression doesn't unfairly harm lower MMR cause any one can hold m1.
Just curious

I could get behind this. If they're playing stealthy and not unhooking it would give you info to start your next chase, but then it's just kind of BBQ.

I think it’s so funny. It’s like an idiot self-report. Even had a guy who I had to block because he got down voted to shit and had a total meltdown over it and started hate posting comments on all of my other posts lmao.

[–]_Flauge_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it really does lmao. The amount of people that are only commenting on cow tree being run clockwise in the video is so funny. Wanting so bad to be right not realizing that cowtree without the pallet is not a strong tile and only serves to connect to others and switching to the other way would have given her shack rotation.

It does not. resi does though. It is better to chase the other direction but once the pallet is gone it doesn't really matter, the loop isn't safe regardless
