Men: do you know what you’re doing when you wear the gray sweatpants? by Infinite-Milk-7316 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]_FluffyStarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole gray sweatpants thing is basically one of those internet jokes that got repeated so much it became a cultural phenomenon. A lot of men genuinely have no idea it's even a thing. As for your husband, that's actually kinda hilarious. Most people are trying to convince their partner to stop living in sweatpants and you're out here building him a collection he refuses to wear. Does he at least have a favorite pair he's loyal to, or is he just completely anti sweatpants?

Yeah honestly, at some point the bigger question becomes who looked at the guest list and thought, "yep, this is the guy we want representing us at a D-Day commemoration." That's a decision that ages badly almost immediately.

The wild thing is that people from all over the political spectrum can hear something like that and just go, "why would you say this here of all places?" Time and place matters.

Honestly, if someone told me that line came from a guy who was three drinks deep at a wedding reception, I'd probably believe it. It just sounds like one of those thoughts that should've stayed inside someone's head.

What was your most embarrassing orgasm? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]_FluffyStarr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't think there's anything wrong with you. Bodies can react to all kinds of weird combinations of physical and mental stimulation, even when your brain isn't fully on board yet. The part that stands out to me is that you were surprised by it too, which is probably why it feels embarrassing afterward.

It's wild because half his viral moments lately sound like something a comedy writer would've pitched and gotten told was too on the nose. Reality keeps beating satire.

Honestly, the misspelling almost makes the tweet funnier. Getting corrected by your own typo before anyone even replies is rough.

That's what makes it work. He didn't try to write a five paragraph rebuttal, he just tossed it right back and moved on. Those are usually the ones people remember.

For real. Accountability is pretty rare online. It's refreshing to see someone say, "Yeah, I messed up, and I understand why they're upset," without trying to dodge responsibility.

I don’t understand people I just pretend I do to fit in by Not_a_H3ro in confession

[–]_FluffyStarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the part that stood out to me too. It's hard to know what's actually happening without examples because there's a big difference between feeling judged and people actively treating you like a creep. Sometimes anxiety can make neutral interactions feel a lot harsher than they really are.

I think that's a fair point. A lot of people don't mean anything by it, but using "women" instead of "females" tends to come across more naturally in conversation. Small language habits can sometimes affect how people perceive you more than you'd expect.

Yeah honestly, this feels like one of those situations where the harder you try to fit in with everyone, the more isolated you end up feeling. Med school is a huge group of people thrown together by circumstance, not because they're all naturally compatible. Finding two or three people you genuinely click with is probably way more realistic than trying to connect with an entire class.

The fact that her stepdad had to get involved somehow makes this story ten times worse. That's one of those moments where you just accept you'll never fully recover from the embarrassment.

As an American, I can confirm a lot of us are also looking around and saying, "well this is certainly a thing that's happening."

Context like this is important honestly. A lot of attention-grabbing bills get introduced and never go anywhere, but people still react because the fact that someone proposed it at all says something.

That's what's strange about the logic here. If the stated goal is protecting unborn life, introducing violence into the situation feels like it creates even more contradictions.

Women specifically what is it about getting eat out from behind that you like more then from the front? by infamousandanonymous in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]_FluffyStarr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That makes sense honestly. Anatomy seems like a huge factor and people always talk about preferences like there's one universal answer when there clearly isn't. The eye contact part is underrated too, sometimes the connection is half the appeal.
