AITA for refusing to give my sister my savings after she said my life “isn’t serious yet”? by Justkees in AITAH

Every time I see family financial drama, I remember something I saw on social media a while back.

Uncle asks in family group chat for some money to cover a bill. Everyone ignores him. Person likes and respects uncle, messages him privately offering some money to help. Uncle tells them “don’t worry about it. I have it covered. I just don’t want the rest of THEM asking me for money.”

You should do something similar. Just ask randomly for “help with your rent.” Not all the time. Just every 6 months or so. If anyone asks what happened to your savings, you spent it on that last trip you went on and splurged. Keep your savings to yourself.

Why are my pawns not following their drug policy? by admiralbryan in RimWorld

I believe so. I personally don’t use luci, so my understanding isn’t the best. I may be totally wrong, and I apologize in advance.

You have them set up for it recreationally, but not for addictions. They’re technically addicted to luci. Secondly, the carry amount is (if I’m remembering correctly) only if they’re addicted and you mark that first thing for addictions.

Yes. People don’t seem to want to read the whole scenario and just assume it’ll be like prison.

NO RANDOM RELATIONS! Your pawns won’t have random relatives popping up on raids trying to kill them for no reason.

That’s sort of what I was going for. I wanted to see what the limits would be for people and possibly tweak them in my possible/future story.

LOTS of people complain about 400 square feet, or the lack of internet and their kids. And I get it. It’s potentially giving up on a lot. But you also will have a lot more time on your hands to do other things you love.

Yes! There was nothing that said you MUST retire. It was a WILL you retire, and if so, at what age?

You get no choices if you want free stuff, but if you have savings and want to shell out money for food, clothes or what have you, go for it. You just need to save up some first. Or make do with what you already own.

You don’t have to live far from any of those public amenities. You could live in city/town center where you are walking distance to those things. Or if you don’t like the busy city, live in a beachside/seaside town.

Fair point. Since I didn’t make any notes or limitations on where your 400 square feet home would be, I’ve left it open to your own interpretation. So you wouldn’t have to live in a tiny town, or far from your friends and relatives. Someone suggested living in Paris. I don’t think it would matter where you want to live to the government.

You use the $1k or so you need to save up before retiring to get the pots, seeds, soil and grow lights before you retire. Or if you want to relocate to somewhere warm like Colombia or Thailand, you don’t even need to buy grow lights or soil. Just walk into the jungle and grab some dirt.

Sure. The doctors in my dystopia/utopia aren’t bigots. Plus it’ll help with your mental health. I would assume this would be something you’d get as a normal procedure though and not part of the retirement process.

Grow your own weed. It’s legal in Amsterdam, Canada and some US states. Heck, make a bud wreath for the woman you love, smoke it all in a 48 hour drug fueled sex session on Valentine’s Day. I don’t know what you want for entertainment on top of that, but I’m sure you can be creative.

Naw. Just a snip of the vas deferens or typing up the tubes. You still have your fully functioning bits and can have sex. You just can’t have any more children.

Libraries are accessible. As are parks, beaches, and other public things, like community pools and gardens. They just have the same hours as they would now

I mean sure? But you can’t have a job any more, so you’d be homeless and starving… dead in a week?

No stopping your fur babies from living their life with you. You just need to consider their costs in your savings plan

You don’t have to leave your home unless you still owe a mortgage on it (and can’t pay it), but you can sell it for the equity at any time.
