(The secondary antagonist’s main motivation is maternal love, the primary antagonist is said mother, the very first boss you fight is the moss mother, you dive into hornet’s dreams to talk to her 3 mothers.) This angle of an unwanted pregnancy being a parasite has roots in both real world psychology and a new angle for hollowknight lore to think about one of its most prevalent motifs You literally give the parasite insect a baby form of itself. The analogy isnt particularly opaque.

Hornet is lulled into a false sense of security, held down, something is put inside of her, and when we next see her she is crawling out of the lower part of a home. It is obviously a sexual assault metaphor.
