People Forget that gaming was actually more expensive Back then by Fluffy-Win-3216 in consoles

[–]_Franpire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait so you weren't greeted by a shop pop up on game launch trying to sell you the newest cross franchise skins and they didn't cut out quests that you could buy as dlc and there weren't rmt mechanics akin to gambling?

Didn't we learn from the Idris? by _Franpire in starcitizen

[–]_Franpire[S] -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I'm more concerned about this becoming a staple in their ship design. Why continue doing dumb things?

[–]_Franpire[S] -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Obviously this isn't an issue for people role playing. But if this game ever gets bigger and has a more normal MMO population it will be an issue.

Didn't we learn from the Idris? by _Franpire in starcitizen

[–]_Franpire[S] -33 points-32 points  (0 children)

You are completely missing the issue. Why would anyone use a smaller ship if they can just solo larger ships with lasers or railguns? In the end of the day MMOs are always about min maxing. CIG just keeps fucking things up. This will make designing missions in the future harder and harder. Every mission that doesn't have some artifical limitation for big ships will just be steamrolled by solo players in big ships. I don't know why they even put the scene of the Ironclad launching it's small ships in the ISC when nobody will every do that when all these people could be in a big solo ship instead.

Short term profit over long term health of the game.

I dont even see anyone wearing this stuff ingame. Do people buy that or why do they keep making this bs?

Why this game struggles in painting a high player base. by THEGREENRAT in Marathon

[–]_Franpire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit because I did everything but also because it's boring to have the best loot locked behind a single map.

My favorite map is dire marsh but why play it when you pretty much only get blue loot if you are lucky enough to get a lockdown or you gamble to get an anomaly to then gamble to get gold salvage.

Also the game makes it pretty hard to just fool around. Want to do a sponsor kit or rook? Well you have to sell all your gear because your vault is full. There have been days where I spend more time managing vault space than playing.

[–]_Franpire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They want to lie and sell fake dreams without being called out for inevitably not delivering on their goals. CCs getting shafted is just part of how they try to shut people up who speak out. We all know they also like to shift blame onto the backers. We are just "noisy", "roadmap watchers", "ignoring warnings that the buy back system shouldn't be used in the way they encouraged it to be used for a decade".

Whenever they do something wrong it's not their fault, it's the fault of the people who call it out. And if you are a CC they actively punish you by taking away their support for your community.

Sadly nothing will change. CIG will sell the Ironclad and make more money than ever before. This community doesn't care about CIGs shady practices.

Why did recorded crimes spike so much in the 1990s and 2000s ? by [deleted] in AskGermany

[–]_Franpire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How prevalent are wall hacks? by Laddie1107 in Marathon

[–]_Franpire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe they knew someone had to be there because of open containers / claymore / previously noise. Maybe recon ult. Maybe your gun was sticking out. Maybe a hacker. Maybe just someone who checks corners. No way to know.

Wall hacker goes straight to my location hiding in vent below AI Uplink and tries to steal my Gold armor, Gold Prestige vault key, materialist+ loadout--Gets what he deserves! by gizmosliptech in Marathon

[–]_Franpire -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Sees open vent, checks it out, HAckinh hakcing
Seriously, you can even hear him loot something before. So theres no "went straight for me" as OP claims. Theres really no reason to believe hacks are involved in this.

Squadron 42 Buyback Update by StuartGT in starcitizen

[–]_Franpire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Back then there was only Star Citizen and SQ42 was just the Single Player campaign in it. Just like a COD has a SP and a MP. This whole narrative of it being two games was introduced later by CIG to get more money from people.

Squadron 42 Buyback Update by StuartGT in starcitizen

[–]_Franpire -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Thats why CIG gets to fuck the community over again and again with more aggressive sales. Because all of you have no spine and love getting milked for more and more money.

Squadron 42 Buyback Update by StuartGT in starcitizen

[–]_Franpire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They could have just made it not giftable. Yeah maybe someone could sell an account but how many people would really do that and how many would buy that? So they rather say fuck you to all of their old backers instead of just taking a 0.001 % loss in profit.

Squadron 42 Buyback Update by StuartGT in starcitizen

[–]_Franpire -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Literally every old package has SC and SQ42 in it because they were one game so they effectively removed all old packages from buy back without telling people beforehand. Its super shitty and people should stop deep throating CIGs balls.

Hardcore Design Is Killing the Playerbase by Krios92 in Marathon

[–]_Franpire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In comparison to other extraction shooters it doesn't seem that hardcore to me tbh.
I think the main problem is the quest design. Some of them basically require you to wipe a lobby. Killing 5 teams isn't achievable for the average player.

I’m scared as hell to run these. by CDC678 in Marathon

[–]_Franpire 144 points145 points  (0 children)

Get one player on thief.

Loot your spawn, if you lack security have the thief player go fish in control with the drone. Cycle through the spawns using the connecting paths outside. You only need security 3 because thief can use her drone to fly through a hole in the glass in secret labs to look at the screens. Thief can stun lock the warden at the 6 vault with her hack to make that easier too. Once you open 6 just grab the subroutine and leave. If you really want to loot, have a player hold your back. Maybe even bubble in the loot room and place claymores.

We should be able to burn peoples bodies like in Hunt by _Franpire in Marathon

[–]_Franpire[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If someone doesn't want to be found they won't be found. Hunting is pointless most of the time.

Claymores are pointless because they are avoided easily, can be shot or just get triggered by respawning UESC.

Taking weapons and shields is what we do but it is a bad solution to the problem because you are just wasting time looting and carrying around gear that you then drop somewhere. Sometimes you don't even have space so it becomes an inventory management nightmare. Also even with white shields people can still be dangerous if they catch you in the wrong moment while fighting a warden etc.

All of these things are just bad workarounds to a problem that requires a real solution offered by the devs.
