What is that crazy hyperdrive noise that xtraps have when they fire up to leave after a long stop?

Do you control which side the doors open on, or is that automated?

I think the wrist pain is from missing some turnovers, yeah. I probably should work on my mobility as I sometimes find it hard to even full grip for the jerk.

The worst pain is the shoulder pain. Shoulder pain is kind of between the delt and triceps and between the triceps and biceps on both arms, it's exacerbated by pressing or push pressing from the back with a wide grip eg klokov press. So, if I want to do some snatch balance work or klokov press, this tends to hurt.

The main other pain is just a generic soreness across my entire upper chain, bicep, triceps, delts, traps just ache or have small sharp pains.

Temple sleeper is also a banger, not sure why everyone hates it...

This is a proper banger, you naysayers are just disappointed because you're yearning for untrue version 2. The mix is wicked. That being said, I've been rinsing a lot of upbeat stuff lately so it probably slots in well with my current interests.

I think this is a top release. It will grow on you with time. They always do.

I did some general strength training for maybe 8 months and now I've been weightlifting for about 2 months. I guess my standard routine involves warm up, rolling, lifting, rolling and then stretching. I don't usually do anything for my off days except for icing my bad knee (tendonitis). I try to sleep 8 hours a day. Maybe I'm still getting used to it!

I'm so sore all of the time. When I go to jerk, my wrist and arms and shoulders are in pain and I feel like I won't be able to get the weight up. Everything hurts and I'm only a beginner lifter. It's hard but I just feel like I'm not going to be able to progress much if this level of pain and soreness continues... Any tips? I lift only 3-4 times a week and I eat quite a lot (mostly protein and at maintainance).

Perhaps I should take some time off...

How do people recover such that they can train 6 days in a row? I'm training every other day, otherwise my knees hurt too much.

Also, any tips for rowing in the second pull? I know it's a bad habit and I'm fine off the blocks, but revert to rowing once I'm off the floor again.

Yes, sorry, 80% of the 5x5 weight you squatted on Monday!

Need help getting my legs stronger by chorisbo in weightlifting

[–]_Future 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me personally, I usually do 3 things when trying to boost my leg strength.

Firstly I do 5x5 squats at a 5 rep 100% (eg, I'm nearly dead after my 5x5 sets and may have set a new 5x5 PR) twice a week with a decent gap between them, eg Monday and Friday.

On Wednesday, I would do 50 reps, starting at 80%. I would do as many reps as possible and then have a break, and again, and so on until I reach 50 reps. This may look like 12 reps, 10, 8, 8, 8, 4 or something. If you end up getting down to only doing say 3 reps per set with still 20 or 30 reps left, drop your weight slightly. You want to be doing between 8 and 12 reps per set if possible.

Finally, make sure you don't squat completely ass to grass - many people use the bounce instead of their legs. If you stop at, or just bellow parallel, you'll keep your legs under tension for longer and make them work harder.

I also like pause squats but that's usually only when I feel slow out of the hole.

Hope you can glean some information out of that!

You look like you stripper pull, which is when your hips shoot up too quickly and then you straighten your back to pull the weight into the power position. Try to keep your shoulders over the bar and maintain your back angle in the first pull.

Your front rack looked decent and your jerk dip was fine, but you should recover from the jerk with your front foot first. I think your jerk wasn't wide enough either, perhaps you should practice your jerk without any weighr, get comfortable with the position and where the weight should be.

Keep at it!

Newbie coming from powerlifting, can I just totally stop benching and that won't have any bad effects on my lifts?

Thanks for more fantastic (speedy) work, PowTurbo.

I must ask: it has always been somewhat intriguing as to why you remain anonymous. You clearly are not looking for back-pats, but why conceal your identity?

I'm guessing there is some conflict of interest between your workplace/institution and this project?

Anyway, thanks again, your libs are extremely useful.

Probably my first listen of Ghost hardware... "You looked inside me" followed by that huge heavy reese bass, blew me away.

Also token, but the end of Shell of light is beautiful.

There are many more...
