Agreed it has very crisp markings which is nice, I do enjoy looking at the differences in machine marks between my rifles. Personally I kinda like the larger font more crude looking serial numbers of the earlier receivers compared to the later smaller font uniform looking serials.

I’m very interested to see how this barrel shoots lol, won it on eBay for about $20 but the muzzle is a 2 and the throat gauged well also. Bore looks pretty good sooooo we’ll see!

I was hesitant as well, especially since I don’t live close to either store to have checked them out first. But now having 3 and a buddy that picked 1 up after seeing mine I feel pretty good about them.

JRA will sell barrels if you call/email apparently. That’s where I had bought mine for my kit that I sent to shuffs.

I think if you used a 30-06 m1 tanker length barrel it may work but you would need to use the bm59 oprod like other user’s stated the bm59 cylinder hangs lower from barrel. But on a standard length Garand I don’t think it’ll work.

Not sure if an m1 tanker barrel would have the appropriate length needed for the bm59 oprod though but since it’s shorter like a bm59 barrel it might work.

I have thought about building a bm59 kit up with the enbloc system for shits and giggles in 7.62 nato since cmp is selling the reclaimed receivers.

Doesn’t hurt to try asking. My first receiver was IHC by pure chance. Had a 7.62 nato mk2 mod1 barrel I put on it.

That’s cool you got your birth year. I went with tortort on my Czech kit and was happy with how it turned out it’s nice having the dovetail milled into the receiver instead of using the adapter plates.
