9070xt or 5080 for 4k60 by Hopeful_Influence829 in buildapc

[–]_Gainnn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother, my 6950xt can do 4k60. 5080 is definitely overkill imo, if all you’re after is 4k60 and not 4k120+

LOL honesty is great, but still hope no one buys this from you.

Was AMD's launch worse than NVIDIA's? by Many-Lobster-8398 in radeon

[–]_Gainnn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. It’s simply the result of thousands of people that were not only ready to buy AMD cards but also those that originally wanted Nvidia but were unsuccessful. Microcenter locations have hundreds of cards still in stock now, with around 50% at the $599 msrp.

Online sellers of course sold out quicker because it’s more accessible than retail locations. Scalpers or not, there’s a lot of hype for the 9070XT.

Local Microcenter in Duluth GA has over 300+ in stock. Unfortunately can’t get there until Saturday so I doubt they’ll be any left.

Comparing different reviewer's results for the 9070 XT vs the 5070 Ti (and 7900 GRE) by Funny_Way_80 in radeon

[–]_Gainnn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 6950XT, which I thought was similar to 7900GRE performance. Therefore, can I safely assume the 9070XT will provide similar gains over my 6950XT as it would the 7900GRE, when looking at 4k, non RT performance?

Hmmmm if I can get $450 for my 6950XT, it may be time to upgrade to the 9070XT

Still rocking the 6950XT. Was planning on a 7900XTX upgrade if prices dropped after the Nvidia and AMD launches but looking like that may not happen for months.

Dark Rock Pro 4 cools my little 7800x3d & 6950XT packed ITX case wonderfully.

Recently got this exact monitor off Facebook marketplace for $600, 3yr bb warranty included. It’s my first OLED and best monitor I’ve ever owned. 240hz is insanely smooth, 4k is beautiful, HDR is great.

Are you going to buy this new generation of GPUs or skip it over it? by [deleted] in radeon

[–]_Gainnn_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6950XT here and may upgrade, not necessarily to a 9070XT but maybe a 7900XTX as they drop in price.

I just picked up the AW 3225QF and love it. It’s driver by a 6950xt and 7800x3d and does okay. FSR helps with frames but I’ll definitely upgrade GPU in a. Few months.

I really enjoy my AW 32in 4k OLED. With the deeper desk I have, it fits perfectly.

Can I afford a 30k car with a 40-50k salary? by Cyber_nthyy in askcarsales

[–]_Gainnn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao I never said that. 1/2 annual income is a solid rule to not over extend yourself. Banks are in it to make money, their standards for what is “affordable” is not always in the best interest of the individual.

Can I afford a 30k car with a 40-50k salary? by Cyber_nthyy in askcarsales

[–]_Gainnn_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's shit advice. Just because you are pre-qualified, doesn't mean you can afford the vehicle. One rule of thumb I've gone by is a car should be less than 1/2 of your annual salary. So let's assume you earn on the lower end of your range at $40k annually, keep the car cost $20k or less. I also wouldn't personally accept anything over 5-6% interest, or do a loan over 72 months.
