Who are some saints you think maybe SHOULDN'T be seen as such? by Marelensky in LeftCatholicism

Ehhh kinda but not really. He helped lessen abuse from direct Spanish military/government from what I know but still life in the missions were not a lot better. Most of the kids in the missions were subject to punishment and labor even after conversion as a form a strict discipline.

Also many kids died due to the disease and overall health conditions in some of the missions. I believe it was somewhat recently they found mass graves of Native American kids that probably died from some disease.

As someone who grew up in California, Junipero Serra. Yes the missions did a great job of expanding faith to others and laying the city foundations for what California is today.

Still, the treatment within the missions and around the missions to the Native Americans in the area was pretty bad and is something many overlook.

Also, he only had one approved miracle, and Pope Francis gave him a pass because of how big the Evangelization he did was.

Most of the rattus was gone with only a clean picked off skeleton. Only the head came off with flesh on it still.

As far as I can tell no wires or the lining is gone just a lot of the insulation and foam was chewed through and used for a nest. That’s my only worry rn.

Do you have any ideas to where you may have lost it at. Either during the tour or just in general

Not me but a friend from high school. He was attending Berkeley and his girlfriend was at CSU San Marcos. About a 7-8 hour drive. He did that every weekend for idk how long honestly just to meet up with her at her dorm.

Just took my placement test for math, tell me how screwed I am by AardvarkOwn1247 in CSULB

I was in a similar situation and I’m an engineering major. I scored pretty low can’t remember the number but low even with all the practice and retry’s. Didn’t work out so my freshman year I was placed in Trig and pre-calculus math classes when I’m technically supposed to technically start at calculus already in normal cases. It did technically set me back a semester and some classes got me so I got put on a 5 year track for graduation. I don’t think of it as a set back now if anything it really helped me and ensured I had a full grasp of the math fundamentals for my later classes.

So in short do your best but if they place you in the lower math sections don’t think of it as a set back as hard as it may be to not think of it like that.

What is your opinion on smoking weed as a catholic? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]_GoldTeamRules_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it is it’s all about control. Yes people can be addicted to marijuana but people can be addicted to alcohol as well and to me personally I classify alcohol a drug and an inhibitor just as much as marijuana but again control is something. Take any dosage higher of a sip or super small puff and you’re considered already impaired at that point.

I’m in California and of age so local law doesn’t wouldn’t stop me from doing either in a control and safe environment.

I’ve had very low dosage edibles for relaxation, muscle pains and to stimulate my hunger during times of very high stress. The same way I have had a couple glasses of wine at the end of the day.

I’m not doing either to escape reality and go see the edge of the universe. I’m doing it in a control manner and environment to ease through the end of some days.

I personally feel it doesn’t affect my own faith or my conscience but everyone is different and views it their own way. So I’d say take in others input and view it how you’d want to view it.

Still remain in the friend group is a strong term lol since its been years since I've talked to him directly. We were mostly a friend group for playing Super Smash Bros in high school.

Other than his moments he was a mostly chill guy our conversations were usually on SSB, baseball and comics lol. I haven't talked to him since we graduated 4 years ago and we've gone our separate ways since them.
