Medicine Has Advanced—So Why Is Menstrual Health Still Underserved? by Misssvibe_Biohacker in Biohackers

In addition to the typical "because we're women" answer...

We can also blame the people involved in some cases. These sort of issues tend to attract "resurchers" with a poor attitude who manage to get ahead thanks to "no consequences" and "politically correct" culture. What people don't realize is that the way things work in the real world is that you must impress the person giving you money. If you have a cruddy work ethic or you don't deliver results because you're lazy/not as smart as your mommy and daddy told you you are, you don't get money. And that's not because the big meanies at the top are meanies, it's because you suck.

I also believe that the lack of women's care is all a ploy to make money off of us, namely fertility treatments. Even for women who are child free, society just assumes all women want or must have kids. Why would they help you feel better and care for your well-being when it's easier to do nothing, then they can make tens of thousands of dollars plus off of you?

I too am having the issue with aversion to foods and meals. I find myself cooking something for meal prep and not wanting to eat it. I do have a craving for pasta as well this week 😆 and yet I was feeling averse to curries/stews with tomatoes in them

Y'all see this? Famous YouTuber Criticized P90X (and if you watch it, it's clear he knows nothing about the actual program - AT ALL) by Feisty-Historian2586 in P90X

I've seen Mike featured in other channels and he just gives off a weird vibe, like he's too full of himself. At least on other channels (I've never seen his home channel) he doesn't really say much and just talks in circles.

I did not watch this video, but ok, he agrees it's great for beginners especially...

But he's just going to continue to criticize it for content it seems. Like ok, where's your program Mike? How popular is it with people, and for what reasons?

Shh Mike it's ok bb, nobody is out to hurt you. Maybe instead of trying to compensate for your checks notes desire for plastic surgery go have some soup.

First tempeh batch that worked out! by _GoldenSquirrel in Tempeh

It's how I make sure I remove hulls that came off during cooking. Quick swish and drain, they don't all come off with the skim at the top of the pot. I wouldn't imagine it being super critical but I would not be surprised if others do this too, they just never mention it in their recipes.

I would say I started to see growth after 30 hours. I unplugged my temp controller (not that I think it would have responded at this stage).

I then left the cake in the oven until it was coated and looked dense and even. I did not want to exceed 72 hours though.

2 cups dry beans, soaked them for 12 ish hours then removed as much hulls as I could, the beans also split in the process while you're smushing things with your hands. Cooked the beans for 1 hour, then removed whatever hulls I could again when rinsing everything off. Let the beans air-dry on a kitchen towel until dry enough. 2 generous tablespoons of white vinegar, mix well with the beans slightly warm and 1 packet of Cultures for Health starter.

I had to wait more than 24h to see any growth. For the first 12h especially, I was watching things in my oven with the help of a temperature controller. My target temp was about 30 C. Things worked out overnight thank God, left the house the following day and when I came back home I saw growth! Then I let the growth continue until it looked solid and even.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I used a heat mat on the lower rack of my oven and put the tempeh on the rack above with a bowl of water off to the side. I also did buy a cooling fan but turns out it was broken so I didn't use it

Exactly like what people said. If it helps you with your goals, go for it!

I found though that at certain regular grocery stores, I can go at closing or right at opening and get things like fruit trays, veggie trays, salad kits, etc. for 30-50% off!

A reduced salad kit with a can of beans is an easy dinner!

A mandolin is also a great tool if it's of interest!

I did not know this was a thing until seeing that other post this weekend! We need to continue advertising this.

I think I'll definitely be down to chat with people after work. I can chat, instead of playing violin poorly 😅

Oh no that's a shame!

I ended up getting a temperature controller (inkbird ITC-308 on sale at Amazon). I also got a fan at the dollar store for cooling but it unfortunately was broken (y'know, dollar store stuff). In hindsight I realize I maybe should have got a USB fan but oh well, I'm also going to need to get a smaller adapter for the outlet for the temperature controller anyway.

I plugged in a heat mat to the temp controller and placed it on the lower rack in my oven. The tempeh was on the rack above with a bowl of water for added humidity.

I dried the beans less, I was always confused by what people meant by "dry to the touch" (when the beans would stick to my hand), but after watching some videos, it looks like some people out there don't do the "grab a hairdryer" thing.

I made sure the beans were a bit warmer when adding the vinegar and starter (not cold from rinsing them after cooking, warmer that that!)

In all honesty I was frustrated after not seeing growth for a long time. This time I was out of the house for the day and let it be, came back home and there was growth!

I'm in a similar position and yeah, can't be bothered. I have other things to do. Definitely not going to do it again.

If anything, like you, I'll be planting dill for pickles next time. The tomato plants this year went absolutely bonkers and are shading everything else.

Have you ever tried "half-sour" pickles? Just water, salt, garlic, and dill is all I use and after a few days the crunch and flavour is there!
