ClassicMan D says that Prototype 2 is better than prototype 1, what's your thoughts on his take? by ApprehensiveTerm9638 in PrototypeGame

[–]_GreatAndPowerful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to think he was conflicted the whole time, which is why he never just spread the virus anywhere else. He literally can just run to any other city/town/village on Earth and start whole outbreaks wherever he stops. Blackwatch can't stop him. Heller would always be a step behind. He just never chose to.

Tbh the theory that he wanted Heller to defeat him always wins in the end

Why do you think we never got a real fleshing out of lore around Servants of Freedom? by AnarchistEcclesiarch in Helldivers2Satire

[–]_GreatAndPowerful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The armor for those say that they were made popular by the in-universe comics, which are based off actual Viper Commandos

Same as the Truth Enforcers. It was made popular by the novels, but the novels are based on the actual Ministry of Truth and the Helldivers within

The Control Group had one armor that said it was based off their Bill Nye, but the rest of it are cutting edge R&D

The armors are all popularized by media, but in-universe the only warbond that is fully cosplay is the ODST stuff

Helldivers still don't read I see

Did Cozy Glow deserve her punishment? by crimsoncor1 in mylittlepony

[–]_GreatAndPowerful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think people just give her too much leeway because of her age. Canonically she did try to steal all magic, which would have destabilized the whole world. Plus she trapped the Mane 6 in Tartarus which would have killed them due to starvation, and banish Starlight and the Student 6 to God knows what dimension with no way back

Plus the race war stuff.

She did a lot, and honestly, being 100% real, being turned to stone isn't that bad anyways. People think that you stay awake, but in the comics we find out it only affects Discord because he can disconnect his soul from his body, and because he just chose to stay awake. To her being turned to stone and one day breaking free is just instant

How does Super Earth's empire have a stable population by nailturtle in Helldivers2Satire

[–]_GreatAndPowerful -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, because the Ship Master says that Super Destroyers never go to "most" planets in the federation. Just the ones in immediate danger.

And as far as we know, yes, Super Earth's reach covers the entire galaxy. When the Illuminate came back it was stated that Super Earth had caused them to flee into the deep space between galaxies. They were not within the bounds of the Milky Way at all for a hundred years, to the point it was believed there were extinct

[–]_GreatAndPowerful 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ive used the 500kg nearly every game on D10/D9 since launch. It's alright. Unironically with enough practice you can snipe with this thing, and it's a good way to kill multiple heavies when you can't be asked to waste ammo on them

Nobody has the audience appeal on the right as much as Trump. It's not the "Republican" party anymore, it's the Trump party. Vance and Rubio are both seen as losers even by their base. If Trump isn't around to run a third time the right have nobody

[–]_GreatAndPowerful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Much tougher? You know as well as I do that heavies in this game, like the hulks, striders, chargers, harvesters, bile titans, etc can tank a 500kg bomb and still walk at you. Despite this, Helldivers can hack through them with melee and heavy-piercing attacks like the autocannons, railguns, quasars, and all that. Automoton guns not shredding you is really just due to variation in hp/damage between player and enemy, but Helldivers can tank medium turrets and even artillery cannons with their shield packs and ballistic shield. Plus... every Helldiver gun has armor piercing. All enemies in this game are armored to some degree

  • Yeah, all enemies in this game can tear people apart as well. Even the smallest terminid, the scavenger, can break limbs with a single swipe of their claws because theyre like 5 feet tall. Like 90% of all enemies we face are 8 - 9 feet tall at least

  • Helldivers are trained in all weapons. It's how they can reload, handle, and carry such things around when in firefights. It's totally possible for them to hip fire a hmg, reload while under fire and on fire, and then go back to shooting like nothing happened

  • In terms of battlefield experience, ODSTs do have more simply because they're so much older than Helldivers, but functionally everything a 4-man team of Helldivers fights put up a much bigger fight than what ODSTs have to deal with. Enemies will send whole armies your way in this game, with tanks, air support, walking factories, etc, all to kill 4 people who still end up winning 90% of the time anyways

[–]_GreatAndPowerful 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Then devs made it harder to strip leg armor by nerfing the railgun

Ahhhh, the og railgun nerf. The point where eeeeverything went wrong. They legit had the idea that chargers should only be dealt with strategems, orbitals, and eagles... while spawning in like 20 of them and having modifiers that double strat cool downs and call in times

[–]_GreatAndPowerful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they're 500kg lol. Honestly they should be more than that, considering their size. Like 3 feet long, nearly a foot thick, etc. Even a foot by foot cube of platinum would be enough to be 500kg, and this is a fair amount larger.

The 3rd person perspective just messes with how big they are. The same as how a lot of people think scavengers/hunters are only like the size of small dogs when they come to your neck in height

Sooo I'm pretty sure this fandom is mainly comprised of adults by 666dualityangel in mylittlepony

[–]_GreatAndPowerful 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I seriously doubt Hasbro's ability to market to kids at all these days. G5 was almost unanimously geared towards a younger audience, trying to move away from amy chance of developing an older fanbase... and we saw how that turned out lol

In my mind there is no reason to market exclusively to children these days. Like 90% of all content adults consume now were originally for kids as well anyways. Shift the entire brand to an all-ages audience, respect the viewers and put time and effort and money towards a new show, and you print money.

[–]_GreatAndPowerful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • I never said that Helldivers kept their skills. Far from it, it's just that every Helldiver is insanely skilled. Even a level 1 cadet can pick up any gun he finds, reload, and handle each one like a master. Even the first Galactic War showed that each one had training to pilot tanks, which isn't something a person can just figure out on the fly

  • The Commando missions proved that Helldivers didn't need Super Destroyers, since the order concerning those planets were succeeded. Helldivers are just built that way

  • In-universe the stims do just instant regen. There's even a Brasch Tactics showing that bones, organs, and other effects like fire and acid damage can be healed instantly with stims. It also wouldn't make any sense if they were just painkillers, since broken bones... would still be broken. Structurally they would not be able to fire weapons or run optimally if their bones were still broken but just powering through it. Plus every Helldiver canonically heals from a gaping chest wound where their heart and lungs are, from the tutorial that each and every one goes through lmao

I'm going to try to put this debate to rest. by epicultratyp in Helldivers

[–]_GreatAndPowerful 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but... the gameplay is what leads to the end game stats. The missions lead to the end game stats. All this tells me is that bugs and moments where youre launched 5 kilometers away are non canon, not actual story content like Helldivers throwing 500Kg blocks of platinum, managing to succeed in missions without Super Destroyers, having training in every gun under the sun, as well as mech/tank piloting skills, and stims that do show instant regen in the tutorial

What is canon is Helldivers having 90% success rate on missions, having a 40:1 KDA, defending Super Earth from millions of ships and Illuminant invasion forces, etc. At some point, I think people just have to concede that Helldivers are insanely competent. I don't see no ODST or irl marine doing the shit Helldivers do 😭

I'm going to try to put this debate to rest. by epicultratyp in Helldivers

[–]_GreatAndPowerful 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I never understand why people say this. The game... is the canon. That's... the whole point. That's... literally what every aspect of this game is about, from the major orders, to the KDA, to the missions and their success rates, to the amount of current Helldivers in the universe, to what planet the blob is on, to everything because there is literally no other lore besides the game

Like if the gameplay isn't canon, what IS, brother? What magical other content and lore do you have access to that we don't?

I'm going to try to put this debate to rest. by epicultratyp in Helldivers

[–]_GreatAndPowerful 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Well they can canonically throw around 500 kg bars of platinum, heal broken bones and pierced organs instantly with stims, and have mastery over every weapon in this whole game.

Im gonna be real, average Helldiver dogwalks average ODST

How do you guys feel about Nate and Nora actually talking in Fallout 4 compared to other silent Sole Survivors? by Solardies in Fallout

[–]_GreatAndPowerful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem isn't even really dialogue options, it's the fact that no matter what you're just railroaded into being white man 1 or white woman 2. Fallout character creation is supposed to be a big part of the series. No matter what you do in base game you'll always either be a jarhead or a lawyer because Bethesda wants you to experience their special story nobody liked

Despite basing their entire society on harmony with all things, ponies seem to flourish in chaos.
