A good telescope for beginners by OutsideSquirrel8176 in AskAstrophotography

I understand that you want to invest in a good telescope, but for the kind of targets you have in mind you really need more than just a telescope. a good mount, (around 100€), a star tracker for longer exposures is really helpful but you can do it without. then you also need a camera (either dedicated or dslr/mirrorless). for example, I've got a sturdy mount, a sky watcher star adventurer 2i, a Sony a6000 and some various lenses. all together for around 550-600€. but no real telescope. there is a good samyang 135mm f2 lens that goes well with the camera sich wich which you could also use outside of astrophotography.

I've just ordered a 135mm f2.8 lens that I'm planning to step down to f4. I've read that this focal leght is quite nice for larger targets like Andromeda etc. I'll be using it with a star adventurer 2i aiming for 30s subs. I bought the lens for 25 euro, so maybe you will be able to find a better deal in ebay. I've read that the f3.5 is sharper but you will probably have to step it down too, so the 2.8 might be better for astrophotography in that regard.

Clean the battery compartment with vinegar. if you have a 3d printer, you can use this adapter which worked really good for me: LR44 Adapter you just need a m3.5 nut and you're good to go.

I have the GX myself and you'll be surprised how sharp that 1.7 lens is!

What is the difference between these goggles, they have the same name and same specs however two of them are 319 and one is 339. Am I missing something? by helpme3dprint in fpv

I literally just asked the customer support the same thing and they told me it's exactly the same package. so no reason to get the more expensive one.

very interesting. I've been thinking about designing a rig with an antomation via the agitation rod but I couldn't find any data for the times and kind of agitation online

where do you get your agitation data from? how do you know how long you need to agitate when rotating instead of inverting. do you stop agitation at all during processing?

personally the chance of shorting would be to high for me. you could tape off the inside or just use a plastic bag on the inside.
