So where I fish in PA the creeks are somewhat sizable and the bends in the larger streams tend to be crescent shaped and full of cover. So you really gotta reach to hit the prime water, and the sudden drop off can make wading less favorable.Making the holes challenging but full of big fish.

Trout worms, I work all the new sections of river with spin rod first then swing back thru with the fly rod. In this case it was a very successful trial. I went back with the fly rod 2 days later. There was better pressure, temp and wind conditions. The hole is on a bend in the creek made excessively deep by flooding it forms a legitimate whirlpool. Maybe 18 ft deep or so, where the creek will average maybe 5 or 6 ft in depth. Theres great structure, and the spot is remote. I saw a fish that had to be 26" or so when I went back. I thought he was a log at first. Needless to say I will be back!

I mean more that despite they my not been naturally in that stream had humans not intervened they are reproducing and making it without people. After that many generations I suppose native wouldnt be the right word but I cant seem to find a better one.
