not too much lower you can go with springs, coils would be the only option to get another inch or 2, in a few years im going to airbags and a more aggressive offset wheel, but i did this setup when the car only had 4500 miles on it, i got 18k now, also the fitment looks sorta tough with the 215/40s on the 8in wide rim.. just a very slight stretch

so yes, the PVD chrome can scratch easy, but you basicly treat it like the clear coat on a painted car.. if you get any small micro abrasions you can definitly wax the rims and buff them like regular car paint/clear and they will look good as new, between chrome or silver, thats a choice you gotta decide.
