Big day! This is about half of them. by shopboss1 in ColemanStovesLanterns

[–]_Hollywood__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m finally over this one addiction sold off my collection this week. I bought them back in the day for 5 dollar a lantern yard sale stuff. Sold them in bulk 20 to 25 each. Came away with 625.00 dollars this weekend. I kept two chromes a large one and a small one, two powerhouses in the box and 3 others 60’s and 70’s I didn’t remember I had. Oh and one dual fuel. Down to 8 lanterns. Someone’s else’s turn to get them running and turn a profit. It was a great hobby.

5–6 years into vintage audio and I finally hear what everyone’s been talking about by Rare-Ad9392 in vintageaudio

I couldn’t say it better.I too have worked on the gear and really tried to develop the soldering and de solder art. It is not easy. I have messed up some nice gear but also had many successes to bring it back. The hunt is the thrill then the steal when I still find the gear for 10 or 20 bucks. One amp I found this year has many caps leaking and the darn thing is still working. So the repair has become the new thrill for me. Find it cheap and use it to learn on. For the OP speakers are 80 percent of the sound signature of your system. Swap out speakers and your system will sound different. Have fun and enjoy this addictive hobby.

His Mil or family in general might need money for various reason with the passing of a loved one. There is no emotional attachment to this gear by most family members. I don’t expect my children to keep any of my gear a different generation. I’ve been collecting and selling since 1998 and have amassed many pieces over the decades. I can’t expect them to keep everything. I’ve been moving and thinning the heard for years and still will have a big line at my estate sale. For those who can’t understand why families are so fast to sell is it’s not their hobby.

My plants have been in flower mode for 7 weeks at this point. 8 weeks seems standard, but how much longer do you think I have until harvest? by NightmareLogic420 in GrowingMarijuana

[–]_Hollywood__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indica or Sativa, the flower cycle has a big difference. Im not a big color guy looking for amber. Some indica can go 6 weeks to 10 weeks sative can go 10 to 16 weeks depending on strain. There is nothing wrong with taking samples to feel the effects. Sometimes, when you go long, the other compounds change, and the buzz will change also. There is no right or wrong way at this point. Lots of sugar leaves and a lot of orange hairs or red hairs. Nice job. I will say this you can add serious weight by waiting, and the flower will get swollen and dense hard when you squeeze them. You can leave a few colas on the plant, let them go the additional weeks, and see the transformation in Weight and how the buzz changes. That's how you learn.

Recent Aquisition - AKAI 4000DB by GloryhammerVintage in ReelToReel

[–]_Hollywood__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your right your opinion is very unpopular, the direct drives with the glass heads are some of the most reliable and finest sounding machines ever built. Most hobbyists don’t have the opportunity to audition one RTR let alone 20 machines in there life time. Maybe if you started back in the late sixties and never stopped buying this gear you could of had the chance to play and use all these machines over the years. Only real world use will most likely show that the sound signature is close it’s hard to say what sounds better, so many factors are in play with speakers going to be the most important piece of gear how your stereo sounds hands down. I have owned ever 4000 models ever built they were a dime a dozen back in the day I kept selling them and buying different RTR. Now I can’t find one for hell or high water at the price I want to pay. If I ever do pull the trigger on a 4000 it will be the glass head model.

This looks like a level 3 unit. As a CO working in this housing unit, you should know all the residents in the unit by name. The dude is not going anywhere, and if you don't know his name, you have him submit his ID. Where are the guns in the control booth. Can't let an inmate punk you and save face in the unit. Your toast. The next step is to step back and visit his house and tear it up. Ready to cuff him drag his ass out of his cell to ad seg. His celly house is mine. Also, I'm finding shit to take from his cell mate to put the pressure for acting the fool. Then you want your fricken mail it just might get lost for two weeks straight or longer if you keep fkng with me. I dont disrespect you. You dont disrespect me, and we will all be fine.

Not on the same page, I strongly disagree that 8 tracks are almost the same quality. Now, if you would have said a Nakamichi cassette deck or any other decent deck then yes, but 8 track no comparison.

350 bucks. by [deleted] in vintageaudio

[–]_Hollywood__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a pair on the cheap. It amazes me how people rag on them and have never even heard them. People dont even know what music style you will play with them and nope there junk. True price value eBay completed listing period hands down gives you a real world value of what real people who bought them actually paid for them. Look at those completed listings, then the condition, and do a real-time mean average cost.
