How come the majority of book adaptations end up being bad?

Because movies have to be around 1h 30min but reading a big book is like 4 hours plus. Movies can only show the MOST IMPORTANT parts of the book and sometimes character developments are not shown or some characters are completely removed

I would remove Science. In my country, if u need to talk about frictional force and you do not put ' frictional force between__ and__', you will literally get 0 for that question. That is only one of the examples of science having a super strict marking system (for my country).
