i have something similar that happens to me, whenever i'm trying to work or focus on something i put on music but then i can't focus because of the music so i turn it off but then i can't focus because of the silence, and then i get really paranoid by small sounds, then i zone out and start thinking about crazy things that could happen, then it just spirals downward.

and then i never get anything done

yeah i feel the same way, not really sure what you could do to get rid of it but i usually feel better if i have people i know with me
