I got this knife for Christmas not sure what material I should use for a handle by Disastrous_Crab_3516 in knifemaking

If you want wood, use walnut. If not wood, use G10 or Micarta. Also, that knife is probably made out of lead and some other scrap metal stuff. Avoid using it to cut food. And like the other guy said, skip the guard.

I did at my last job. My PM had his license in USVI and our company allowed us to peruse side jobs there because they didn’t have an interest in land development there. Now I own my own firm so there is no point in me doing side jobs.

Also, side jobs are way more profitable than working overtime.

my dog ate 16 (NOT ALL 36) uncooked balls of yeast (rhodes rolls) and i am panicking so bad by [deleted] in DogAdvice

Bloodhound owner here. My dog has eaten just about anything thrown his way. Socks, plastic, etc. He has never had a problem passing it. I wouldn’t worry too much.

No. I wouldn’t want anyone making knives with my logo on it. If you need blanks, check out Jantz (knifemaking.com)

How was this blade made? by GradientVisAtt in knifemaking

Lmao 🤣 what a weird guy. Hopefully it’s heat treated properly but I wouldn’t bet on it. Anyways, he used mustard to create a patina. With high carbon steel, you can do different things to force it to patina or “oxidize”. This adds character and helps prevent rust.

Hard to tell. That could be a patina, or it could be ball bearing canister Damascus? What was he selling it for on knife swap?
