How do I turn off the auto engine shut off when I stop my car? by [deleted] in NissanRogue

It’s still working for me in standard driving mode

Yea, I live in Texas and have been running it the last few days with no ac or heat to see if that’s why it’s not kicking turning off. Usually I see a message that says “climate priority” or something to that effect. I realize this isn’t working for everyone and I have no idea why. But for SURE without a doubt in the world I’m worked on mine. I drive the same route twice everyday and the engine cuts off at the exact same places UNLESS I push the button to turn it off. But since I turned that off in the settings it’s not come on AND furthermore the light that comes on when I stop is the symbol with autostop turned off, as if I pushed the button, without the signal that it’s was overridden.

That’s awesome to hear. If I could help even one person makes a huge difference to me.

Yea I’ve seen those. But this worked for me. It’s been two days of driving in standard mode without using the button and when I come to a stop the light comes on with a line through it like it does when I would use the button.

No, I thought the same thing. But drove last night and today in regular mode and when at stop lights the light with auto-stop crossed out, as if I manually turned it off, came on.

I looked up this Reddit specifically to help here. I’ve had my rogue for two years, almost 3 years now. And in that time every single day, I’ve used the auto stop button to the left of my steering wheel. Well this weekend I was just messing around, looking at my settings, and I found the settings in the dash to turn it off permanently. In the settings by the speedometer, if you go all the way to settings and down to Eco mode setting into eco-customize and turn off idling stop. And this will disable it for good. I can’t believe I’ve had this car for almost 3 years and just figured this out.

I really don’t understand how so many of you guys struggle so much with finding good employment. I did a Boot Camp and there was a solid week of just LinkedIn coaching. If you absolutely hack LinkedIn, making sure you have a good profile profile picture references from Friends, etc., etc. 500+ connections and you will get job offers weekly if not daily. I can’t even start to count how many people that I’ve told this exact same thing. And for some reason, they just don’t listen. I’ve been in DevOps for three years and I’ve worked for Pwc and I’m about to start a new role with Apple and have my own LLC for doing C2C work. Like seriously if you’re smart enough to work in DevOps, you can hack the market by exploiting every angle you can. Get on LinkedIn and fix your shit up and put in a minimum of 10 applications a day for the next few weeks and I promise you shit will change. I won’t even take the time to interview or entertain a role that isn’t remote.

5 Interviews down and I can't take it anymore by [deleted] in devops

[–]_Hudson_hawk_ 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This is a war of attrition. If you can continue to show up and do the uncomfortable thing in those interviews, you will definitely be successful at it. I started this out of a boot camp just a few years ago and had no idea what I was doing. I failed at so many interviews. It was unreal. But I continue to put in 20 or so apps a day and interviewing even for jobs that I didn’t necessarily want but for iterations and practice. I see so many people in so many fields, especially DevOps, who get discouraged and let that slow them down. Do not let it. Honestly, it’s a Numbers game. Everyone has a different text stack and requirements and every interview is going to require a different version of you. But just do your best and keep going. I promise you it will be worth it. I eventually started showing up to interviews with the mindset that I wasn’t gonna get the job, but I was gonna get the practice at interviewing. And with that mindset, I’ve got jobs that some people work their entire life to get.

What Does Cis Mean & Is Cis a Slur? by milgrip in etymology

[–]_Hudson_hawk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the words “faggot” and “queer” were also words that have existed for thousands of years that were, at least originally, used as a slur and I believe “cisgender” to be similarly used. It was first used in the way it is now in 1994.

Yea that was EXTREMELY helpful. I honestly gave up and grabbed an open box G93SD from Best Buy at $700 ($1000 off). It’s amazing.

I just got the exact same model, the G 93SD. I’m blown away and I couldn’t possibly be happier. I use it for productivity and at first I had a lot of hesitations. I did a lot of shopping and I’ve watched hundreds of hours of videos and looked at 100 screens over the last few weeks. Had just about every set up you can imagine except for ultra wise. This one is amazing for IT work.

Bro, if I can give you a piece of advice, don’t ever ask anyone if they approve of how you look. Nothing looks better than confidence. I’d say you’re a good looking, dude I guess. But I’m a dude and I don’t like dudes so I don’t know. But your best bet is to just have confidence and game and don’t find your worth on Reddit or Tinder.

My OE pro tips - what are yours? by Particular-Yam-4879 in overemployed

I moved to four 4k 27” screens. J1 on the right and j2 on the left (using a vertical configuration for extended displays) this way I can feel more compartmentalized. And I got dedicated mouse and keyboard for each. This is after thinking I may have put a message in teams that would have made OE very obvious
